Default Need help!!! insurance company trying to screw me

So about about 3 weeks ago, my car was totaled

it was an 01 camaro SS with with only 23k miles. They are offereing me $15,000 and change. They are not willing to budge (even though NADA, and KBB, as well as for sale adds all say it is worth more) I have talked to the total loss people, and they are not willing to bugde, not one bit.

So i call my local agent, and he knows about my car, and instructed me to find an apprasier....perferably one that knows about SS camaros.....and knows that an SS is not the same as a V6 camaro

Does anyone know of an appraiser that is local? Possibly and F-body guy?

I know my car is worth more than $15k, as does my agent

thanks for all the help,

Jimmy

Sorry to hear this... but this is the exact reason I preach to people to get an agreed value policy. Sure, you can't use the car anymore to go to work and school, but to have the ability to tell them what it's worth, and in the event of a loss get the full $ that you have insured the car for is hands down a winner every time.

Never mind the fact that it's alot cheaper then regular insurance.

Then you might be in the clear... OR, they could try to deny the claim completely if the car was modded making alot more power and the accident was speed related at all... be careful with that, you could get screwed.

Tell them your going to see a lawyer because nada is what your car is worth and if they aren't willing to pay that they will also be paying your legal fee's on top of the nada.

Oof... tree fell on it? How bad is it? Maybe ripping everythign that's aftermarket off it might be a good idea.. then you'd have it to put on another car... just an idea...

Boy am I glad I got my garage up and the car in it! A tree falling on it, or hail damage has been a worry in the back of my mind forever.... not amymore.

Let me see what I can do. I'm an auto damage appraiser(I only right estimates and ****) but let me see if my coworkers know of any actual value appraisers around here.
