Default J&M Motorsports (Formerly J&M Corvette)

Has anyone had an expirience with J&M in Manchester CT doing a tune on an LS2? I'm looking to have my car tuned in the next month, and they are close to me, but haven't heard any feedback from anyone about them.

Thanks
Rob

they touched my car, and I stil to this day regret it. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR THERE! DO NOT LET THEM TUNE IT!!!! Do not even let them see your car, that could be enough to have something bad happen. That place is a disaster, overpriced, they don't know what they are doing, and like to blow **** up/tune it so it will blow up. I can tell you about at least a dozen cars that they have 100% porked up.

again, I don't think I can say it enough.... DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THAT PLACE!

OK, enough said, now the next question is who can tune an LS2 in CT?

I looked at Eastside, and I don't think they can, I live in Ellington CT.

STAY AWAY FROM J&M!!!!!!! I can give you horror stories if you need to hear details, but I wouldn't let them tune my ******* lawn mower

With that out of the way... If Eastside won't tune an Ls2... take a look at the eastern section sponsor list, you may have to drive an hour or two to find someone, but it will be well worth it.

definately go with a sponsor on here. I don't know if eastside got the software for the new ls2's yet, if they haven't, I'm sure they will soon enough. There's a few other places that are sponsors on here that will do it that are probably withing a few hours... just make sure that they don't lock the computer in case you bring it somehwere closer the next time it needs one.

Where in ellington do you live? I grew up there, my parents still live there.

there are not any other lsX shops in CT, your best bet is to go to DEZ (slowhawk) or TTP for your tune
or if you wanted to buy your own software ESP could tune the car and work out a price that is fair, and you would have your own software for future mods

I lived on middle road, so I know the area. the option of getting your own software, and having eastside do it would be the best bet, but the shops that chef mentioned would be fine to have the tuning done at as well.

Isn't the software pretty expensive though?
I was curious who in the area had LS2 tuning as well, I've had a few local people ask me

I'm aure that you can get a version of hp tuners that will do the ls2 for a fair price, it's only gonna be able to go a couple vin's, but if it's for personal use I'd imagine it can'e be that bad.

We don't do LS2's yet due to the software out there. When a decent setup comes out that DOESN'T lock the computer up ,we'll have it

I'm pretty sure TTP can do it.

Don't know much about J&M. I used to work at Mustangs Unlimited and one of the guys pulled up in a bad *** carbed/F1 procharged Camaro. Nice ride, the setup looked very clean.

Other than that, a buddy of mine down in CT said they were no good. I'd go with the herd on this one and steer clear.

Thanks everyone for your feedback, Looks like i'm going to have to go the DIY route on the software, and then on top of that shell out $400 for the dyno tune.

It doesn't look like EFI Live does the LS2 yet, looks like HP Tuners is the only one that does, Is this right?

( I know it's not the right forum for this question, but I've already got your attention)

live is about to release the ls2 stuff very soon (they are field testing the new gear now) if that is what your looking to go with, but if your in a rush get the hp or edit.

yea the shop versions are NOT cheap, and alot of shops are waiting for a better software option to come along.....which usually pops up right after shops shell out a ton of $$$$$

I'll have to dig out my old issues of GMHTP but there are quite a few LS2's using tuning software. I beleive HPtuner was a prominate one. Personally and I have done this with my LT1 is buy the program, I have a laptop, get a cable and have an exp. tuner with a dynometer or at least access to one to do your car up!

http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...ftware_review/

this is the best one I found online. Now there are at least 2 articles that deal with LS7 but they call it LS7 edit so I dont know if the parameters are the same, or even if they are compatible.
