Default Help I need to drop 3 tenths.

I want an 11.99 before the end of the year. Current best ETis 12.35 w 1.71 60ft
Best 60 ft is 1.63 both at 108 mph. Car is making 325hp and 333 tq. Just added LS6 intake and ported TB which should be good for .1 or .2. Only other mods on car are headers, lid, slowhawk tune and !back and pass seats. Any other bolt ons that will help ?????? Is an underdrive pulley worth a solid tenth.?? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Take everything out of the car including the AC,bumper supports, front sway bar, stereo, and anything else that can come out.Run the gas at 1/8 tank. Also run some ET street's and skinny's in the front.

Don't forget to change the tranny fluid again

nitrous, front sway bar, skinnies up front, underdrive pulley, more tire pressure if it does not effect your 60 foots, 90/10 front struts, higher octane fuel, cut out, and probably a few other things. Lots of little things like that ad up fast.

Loose some weight, spare, jack , back seats, skinnies, etc.
Get a better tire.
Get the U/D pulley.

If you can cut under a 1.65 after the above, you might do it then.

It still took me a cam to run that in a full weight car. Granted light cars with big stalls do it all the time.

I need a BIG stall, well alteast bigger :-)

Thanks for the quick replies. So weight reduction is my best bet right now. Will see what I can do. car weighs 3480 with me in it. Hopefully my tranny has a couple passes left in it. Is a pulley worth a tenth ???

Your car's lighter than I thought.

The pulley will help, a .1? I dunno probably close to that. Most people get a few hp outta it, the engine will rev noticably quicker. The pulley is just one of those things you do when you get to it, like when doing the cam.

a pully will help a little. also maybe just for the race do a short belt. andjust take everything out of the car. and i mean everything.
i emptied my center console and glove box once and came up with like 11 pounds of cd's, and other parts ect. floor mats, sun visors, pass seat, fuel rail covers iff you have them, throw a light weight batt in from a motor cycle or somthing just to start the car if need be.

you will get a 10th from the intake pully and t-body. then you will need to find atleast 100 pounds minimum plus a nice cold night on a good treated track.

good luck

If time is a factor, like most people have said, pull as much weight as possible and get to a nice track with good weather. That would be your best bet.

short belt mod is a simple trip to auto zone. Kinda sucks making turns with no p/s at the track though. I can swap mine out in less than 5 min.

Know where I could get one ???? I would love to but the shortblock alone costs more than I have into my car total including purchase and sales tax. Im hoping it snows enough this winter to be able to afford budget heads and a cam. Thanks for all the replies, time to get the torches out and start cutting stuff off. thanks to all the help I got here and slowhawks I went from low 13s to low 12s without adding any HP.
