Yessir... car ran multiple 10 second passes, worst being a 10.97, best of a 10.80. We played with the shocks all day, every run making a change to something... never really found anything that was alot better or worse... one thing is for sure, a set of 28x10 et drags screwed to the rim are gonna make the car really move out.. because the 27 qtp's were spinning, on the track, and on the rim every run LOL. That's for next year though.

As for running out of gear.. the 28 will help a little bit, but it's safe to say that once the bottle goes in... I'm gonna have no choice but to change them, if the car's getting to 123-124 on motornow at 3600lbs, and the shift light I have in the car set for 6800 is on the last 150 feet of the track, she's probably hitting about 7200 going thru the traps I'd guess. Only way to tell would be to log a run, something I will do next year at some point when I'm at the track with Ken. But, with another 150 hp from the nitrous, and the planned weight reduction stuff, I'm sure the 60 foot times will get right down into the low 1.4x range if not better, and the mph will certainly be up in the 130's... so the gear change is gonna be needed... I don't see the car even with a 28 inch tire making it too far into the 130's with the 4.10's I'd almost like to go to 3.90, to try to keep the car as good as I can on motor, but I still think it will run out of gear with them.

I tried footbraking once yesterday.... that didn't work so good. I put my foot on teh brake as hard as my 275 lb *** can press it, and as soon as the rpm's got to 3500, the car started rolling foreward right thru the beams.... so that was theend of that! back to launching off the transbrake, gas on the floor. I think a set of 28's, screwed to the rim are gonna make a huge difference.... every pass the car still spun some, and the tires were moving about 2 inches every pass by the looks of it.

N20, our cars are so damn close it's not funny LOL. I'm all done for the year, but next year I'll have to go down to jersey, on the tracks you guys run it would be intresting to see what it would do.. if it can run 10.80 on motor now at lvd.. I would be very intrested to see what it it would do down there. We'd have a damn good race!

next year maybe... I've got a couple things I have to take care of (pay off one credit card, and pave my driveway) then I'll be getting all the safety stuff in the car and I'll pick up a trailer... once that happens I'll make a few roadtrips down.

I want to get the car light enough and leaving hard enough to get the car to a consistant 10.50 so I can run that class with it. Not every week, but at least one trip a month... and the nitrous setup will be for days I want to make a mad blast with the car. If I can get to to where I want it to be on motor, I can't imagine that it wouldn't see a 9.

right now I'm just trying to decide what I want to do with the cage.. I wasn't gonna do anymore then a 6 pt.. but if I'm gonna do it, I might want to just get the 10pt done right off and be done with it.. so I've got some room to grow with that too. Probably will come down to the $ available at the time.

whatever gets put in.. will definately be chromoly.... after doign everything else with LW in mind, I can't even imagine not doing the cage with it.

I really do want to do a 10 pt with a driver halo, much like what was in the black SS that eastside was racing last year... but we'll see what the $ situation is when I'm ready to send it in. As it is, I'm not gonna change the swaybar, after having sonic snake run it a pass and seeing the car leave as level as it was, there's no need to a stiffer bar at this point.. and the exhaust I was thinking of changing.. won't happen until I either get pinched for it being too loud, or I take it off the road, at that point a set of bullets are going on the headers and that's it.... so that's $ I'm not gonna spend either. So that means either the LW brakes are all getting done and the ABS is all going away, and the car will get a manual brake setup (do it all at once and be done) or it's getting a 10 pt cage... just not sure which way I'll go yet.

To get the car to 10.50, so I can run that class, the brakes are seeming like a better move, the reduced weight would be more beneficial.... but we'll see. Never know what kind of deal I might happen across over the winter, sometimes 1/2 that stuff pops up on here for sale for about 1/2 what it costs new... so maybe I'll get lucky and be able to do all of it. Look @ the k-member/a arm setup chef found, $475 for the member, upper and lower a arms...... so there's deals out there to be found, just have to get lucky.

yea the deals are out there if ya really look for them and have the $$$ to act on them at the time, i couldnt pass up the deal i got on the k frame and a arms, that why i woke you up when i was at the swap meet to confirm what i was looking at,

i always said im not gonna do this or that to my car but now i got a daily driver to get to work and now my car is quickly getting the mods i never thought i would do
now if all these little projects get finished and i can get a chance to take a day off from work with out the place falling apart i will borrow a set of rims and tires(hint hint) and hit a rental at atco and race in the magical air they got up there

Oh I hear ya on the mods ya never thought you would do... believe me LOL.

When you're ready to take a trip, lemme know.

As for that atco air... if it's as good as eeryone claims it to be then I'd be well on my way to a 10.6x run I'd bet.

Next year maybe.

for what its worth, you must be shifting 1'st -2nd, 2nd to 3rd a little early to be on theshift light.
B-Mans car withthe sametranny, same gearandsame tirewith me driving went 10.4 @ 129 shifting at 6600-6700 andthe 129 pass i wentthrew the traps at about 7000.
that car has alotin it!!good luck, i see that car going a 50 with some seat time and a little test and tunning

I've got the light set at 6800... I figure that by the time I see it and pull the lever it's probably at 7000. I never really did get a chance to play with that yesterday... we were trying different shock settings almost every run (hence why the range of times I think... worst full pass at 10.97, best at a 10.80).

I'm not going back again this year, but if I were gonna, I know where the shocks need to be, I'd probably try setting the shift light a little higher, then maybe a little lower to see what the effects would be. But I agree, I think that by trying a couple different settings I'd probably find something that would work better then where I was shifting the car. I do agree, with some more seat time and tuning, and a set of 28 inch et drags on the car, a 10.50 could be possible as it sits.

I'll leave that to be determined in the spring, after all the safety stuff is in.

Good job Jason! Sorry I didnt say congrats when I called you earlier.. I was kinda concerned about my car

I think its something to do with the idle control motor..

Ill have to do more investigation tomorrow after work. At least I unplugged it and its not idling at 3k rpm anymore

End rant. Good job for the second time!

I didn't see a camaro break, but I did see a few cars up there with redline stickers on them.. they seemed like nice guys, but I didn't really talk to them.

You'll be good to go once ya find a car... just keep your eyes open on here, there's always stuff popping up for sale, and alot of the time they are pretty good deals too.
