There's alot that you can do without taking the heat out. My car last year was 3700 with me in it, about a 1/3 tank of gas... same amount of fuel this year it's 3580. Granted that's not a TON, but I stil have the bumper supports in, a single leather seat ( soon 2 alum racing seats ) and most of the ammenities. I have to ad about 70 lbs at a min.. I will at leat be putting a 6 pt in the car over the winter... and I think ther's about another 50 lbs that will come out before I start buing LW parts... with all the LW stuff I want to buy, I think another 200 lbs of reduction are possible.. but I won't get it all done this year.

PJ, you're making me think about spraying my motor. I figure a 150 shot and some 30" tires should get me well into the 9's. I was going to build a bigger motor but just can't afford it right now. My motor is built to handle a 300 shot, don't wanna push that hard but I am thinking about the 150. I have the winter to mull it over.

You would def be in the 9s with a 150 shot. IF u look at it really 150 isnt that big of a shot. In my old 346 heads/cam car i sprayed 170 for 2 years and i was at the track 2 nites aweek. Right now where redoing te rear going to spool it and the trans has to come out. Hope to be up and running soon.

PJ,

You don't have to go nuts with the weight reduction. I still have my heat and sterio.

You can get the light weight seats, take out the back seats, K-Member and A-Arms, and if want you can pull the interior. I put mine back in when im not racing. The car is totaly together in the summer when i just use it to cruise around to the beach and stuff. Takes me about 2 or 3 hours to get it in race form.

I just put the light weight seat in. Rear seats are out. What sucks is that the iron block addded weight and the th400. The 12 bolt is one heavy bitck too.
Front and rear bumper surports are gone,a/c washer bottle. Going to put some money away and get the kmember and controls arm.
