for all those saying tbss...go take a peak at the srt jeep first, i have driven both and the interior and fit on the jeep makes the chevy look like...well a chevy. ITs not even comparable. Not to mention the jeep has gone 13.7 stock even with awd.

the tbss looks alot smaller, i see two jeep srt8's around town all the time, they look slicker without a doubt. i think alot of people have alot of gm loyalty which is cool in it's own.

I haven't seen any SRT8's around just yet, But I have been seeing several TBSS's around here and they don't do a single thing for me.... I would like to see an SRT8 in person to compare, but simply based on what some guys are saying here. .. . the Jeep seems to be the way to go for an SUV.

I still vote Silverado SS AWD or Silverado/Sierra 2500 Duramax!!!

I agree with you and went looked at both not long ago but you can get a tbss for low 30's and a srt8 is low 50's.

Thanks for all the thoughts guys. Keep 'em coming.

I test drove a SRT 10 on Sat...nice truck but really didn't do much for me. Also I thought it was interesting that it stickered at $56K and the saleman knocked off $9K before even hearing any thoughts from me on the truck. They want to get ride of the two they have bad. Also interesting, the black one I drove had 49 miles on it, and the wheel wells had more rubber in them than my car does after a day at the track...that's really messed up, but unfortunately doesn't suprise me.

So next Sat. I'll drive the TBSS and the SRT8 Cherokee. The big differences from what I can tell so far are:
-SRT8 is nicer, plain & simple. Nicer looking, nicer interior, dual exhaust pipes, doesn't have the "Chevy" stigma.
-SRT8 is about $6K more for a similar equiped TBSS, not including current Chevrolet incentives.
-SRT8's are hard to find, and therefore I am guessing are not selling at a discount. We'll see next Sat. though.
-TBSS has everything I want except for the single exhaust, and the less than impressive interior.
-TBSS seem to be pretty plentiful, have incentives, and I would guess would sell at a discount...so $6K plus a discount plus incentives= a pretty good price relative to the SRT8.

Anyway, thanks for the thoughts and anymore feedback anyone has would be great, as I'm figuring it all into my decision.

even if the chev tech is a mastermind and the benz tech is a pot head i would take the benz hardware anyday jon.

the motors and trannies in a benz is what gm strives to offer. gm just plain out wont spend the money any put that **** in their cars, they will never sell a 4 door sedan for 90,000.00 so they cant afford to build a car like it's worth that. gm doesnt even offer hardware that compares in their pricey caddy line-up. step on the gas in a caddy and it's like rolling the dice whether your gonna break something right away or real soon.

i understand gm loyalty but that was kinda silly.

we aren't talking about a 90k benz here.....we are talking srt8 and tbss so again I would trust the tb's drivetrain before the srt8 and that's my oppinion. If we are talking amg e55 at 90g's then yeah I would take a benz over the gm product....

If you are just looking for a DD w/ AWD, check out an Audi. Comfortable ride, factory nav, sat, etc.

Audi has one of the worst reputations out there for reliability. It's been that way for years....Want problems? Buy an Audi..... WJ
