Benched at another competition
On Dec 8th I went to Monterey, CA. and participated in a power lifting event. Last time in May I pressed 320lbs. This time I opened with 315lbs, then did 335lbs, and on my final attempt I pressed 345lbs. I weighed in at 214lbs and ended up with a coefficient of 1.61, lost to a guy who weighed in at 206lbs and pressed 335lbs. He had a 1.62 coefficient... The weight class was 199-220. I got a video of a couple of my lifts on a mini dvd, got to figure out how to post a link, lol.
I did see a guy press 480lbs raw

Nice job! Back when I lifted seriously in college I could do 275 for a couple reps weighing only 153lbs...dont know what my single rep max would have been... probably 280.
For 275 and 153lbs = coeff. 1.797 ~1.80

Seriously, your weight can kill you in these type of event's. The trick is to come in at the very bottom of your class like 199, in a 199-220 class. That way someone 215lbs has to lift alot more to win, lol. I do it mostly for fun anyway, but always nice to get a medal or trophy. I hope to be around 1.75 for the next one in May.

In addition Ronnie Coleman is in his 40s. He did lose this year though.
Congrats, Stinks that you got beat like that but keep trying.
What would my coefficient be I'm 205 and bench 380. I've come to the conclusion that I will never hit 405 It just won't happen unless I gain 30+ lbs. I want to loose 20-30lbs. To enter the comps around hear. right now 380 would be embarrassing around hear there are kids putting up 450+ and weight around 220. They swear there not on the beans.

congrats on the 345
Have no Idea what I can max bench (no training partner to spot me) but I tell you what it wont be anything near your 1.61 coefficient. Be glad you accomplished that

330 was my best when I was in my early 20's. I also squatted 500 even weighing 181 lbs. Now I'm 37, I still go to the gym at least a few times a week but I don't lift real heavy anymore. Nice lift. Just stay away from the drugs.
I'm 31y/o and 5'11", 205lbs and rarely do straight bar other than to warm up. I usually start with 185 for 15 reps, then 225 for 10 reps then move to dumb-bells. Last week I was able to press 90's for the first time since college. I know it's nothing spectacular, but with a baby on the way (any day now), maintaining a house and a career, working out has taken a backseat, so I'm just happy to be where I'm at. I got my body fat checked recently and it was 13%, not bad, but I'd like to get it back down to 10%.

BOSS APPROVED!
