How is it running bad??? What mods do you have on your car. Explain the situation.

On a sunday, good luck on finding something open.

Well, I took it to the Autoport on base, and they said it was the Throttle Position Sensor. So, I ordered a new one through them, and they installed it. Then, when I get the car back, they say "It's not the sensor, the car just runs bad and needs to have a diagnostic on it." After i spent $125 on nothing, they want another $65 for a diagnostic. I don't have the money for that, but I heard that hobby shops on base have all the supplies, you just have to rent a bay. But the one on NAB is closed, and I have a buyer for my car, as soon as I get it running right...

Oceana? How far is that from Little Creek? It Is driveable, it has 190,XXX miles, and It's not an LS1, it's a GTA with the L98 TPI

What specifically is it doing? Give me some symptoms.

Does it sputter and not want to rev up, drive normal for a few miles and do it again and your check engine light does not trip....could be your ignition module.

Does it sputter and want to die and not rev above 2000+ rpms and throw a check engine light? If it throws a Code 44 that means your running lean and it could be your fuel pump.

If you are not throwing the check engine light then there will be nothing for the Auto Port to pull. They will get a Code 12 which means your ECM is working as it should.

If you are throwing a "Check Engine" light.... DO NOT disconnect the battery as that will erase the code.... also after a certain amount (I forget) of ignition cycles the code will reset.

If the check engine light comes on and stays on that is what is considered a hard fault. If it turns on then off that is an intermittant fault.

I need more info to try and help you out. I have duty tomorrow, but will be able to check the site for your replies.

I'm thinking about putting my headers on this weekend. Actually I may even try to put them on Thursday. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come by and offer their two cents.

Okay, first off, when I start the car it idles really high (1800-1900, when normally idles at 550 RPM) and then drops down below 500 RPM, where the car begins to shudder. This fluxuation of revolutions continues until the car dies out. Upon putting the car in either drive or reverse, the car imeadiately shuts off, so that I have to start the car up again, and then rev the engine slightly and slide the car into gear, so the car won't shut off. When driving normally, the car skips and seems to miss a little, and if left in Drive, will shut off when coming to a stop light. I have to downshift, and upshift as if driving a manual car. The check engine light is not on, and I need to figure out what's wrong with the car so that I may sell it and get and LS1. I have a buyer, but he won't pursue unless it's running correctly. It's very frustrating!!!! Can you help me???
