Now what i do to save is convert about $50 a week into rolls of quarters when i cash my check, and then dump it into a 5 gallon water jug. Cause there's no way n hell ill pay for something in quarters. And if its in my debit account ill jsut spend it.

I'll make my $ one way or another, that's how I figure it.

Pay for mods in cash.

Use loans for when you blow up your car (because of your mods) and need a way to get to work.

This is simple, will you beable to fix your car after this round of mods if something breaks? If not, don't do the mods yet.

Save and mod as it suits your budget!! Being impatient kinda sucks but over time you might change your mind too.....

BTW-what are you looking to do?? LTs, Cat-back, Gears, Pedders suspension, heads, cam, stall converter/clutch, intake?

i know what you guys are saying. But ive decided to just do what i need to do to get the car over the 300 HP mark so Marcel will talk to me again. and that shoudl only cost me about a grand. i can pay that off really quick, but i wanna be able to have the car on the road for the summer so i cant sit back and save the money first. cause itll take me too long.

and i didnt mean a BRAND new truck. I was talking like an 01 sierra or silverado. i couldnt afford the insurance on a Brand new truck. once again making 12 an hour sucks ***. lol

My ultimate goal is stall longtubes cam fast90 nitrous catback cai rims tires and tune. I just want around 430-450 rwhp n/a and a added 100 shot for the track. So it looks like I will take your guy's advice and pay it with money do it peice by peice so what would you recommend I start out with ( I am looking for sound and a noticeable increase in power) I'm thinking either longtubes stall and tune or catback nitrous and tune.

We offer credit through Car Care One. 90 days same as cash so that works out pretty good. I really don't recommend it if your going to carry a balance beyond 90 days through. The interest rate would be pretty high then.

his score might be 660, which your right, isnt bad, but there are more factors than just the score alone. it has to do with your available credit at that time. say you have 2 credit cards each with 1000 limit. one has 800 on it and the other hass 990. that gives you an available credit of 210 out of 2000 and thats bad. the more available credit you have the more likely you are to get approved.
so do you have credit cards with high balences or do you owe alot on say your car or a house? this would be the reason for the denial

If you need to take a loan out for mods, then you can't afford mods. Loans are ok for a house or a car, but not for mods. Pay off those credit cards man. Im sure your losing a lot more money than you could have used for modifications if you had just saved up first. Personally I'd feel more satisfied knowing I'm not throwing away interest money in credit cards, than if I was still in debt and had something that might increase power by 20-30 hp (thats just a guess btw).

What do you "need" the modificaitons for anyway?

Any kind of hobby expense such as mod money for the car should always be disposable cash in hand - no guilt.

Just as an aside as well, if you're trying to save money and you don't have a high-yield savings account, you might want to get yourself set up with one. A good interest rate can do wonders...

ING Direct earns 4.5% APY -- http://home.ingdirect.com/
E*Trade Financial earns 5.05% APY -- https://us.etrade.com/e/t/banking/savings

You basically get CD-like rates, but without the hassle of tieing up cash for long periods of time. It's FDIC insured, and there's no risk. The only downside is it's all electronic, and takes about 5 business days to get money out of the account.

Disclaimer: I'm not a financial advisor. I just mention this because it works for me personally. Your results may vary, but my ING account does pretty well for savings.
