Default anyone selling an open car trailer?

anyone on here have an open car trailer for sale, or know of a place that sells then that has some decent pricing? Looking for a 16 foot with a dovetail deck.

If anyone knows of one for sale or a place that has some, lemme know.

No, I have a 2003 1500 ram 4x4 rcsb pickup too with the 4.7 motor.... should be able to pull 5500 or so without too much a problem. I have to put a hitch and brake controller on it, but I will most likly put it on wherever I buy the trailer, so I know it will all work together.

Jason, I know of one in Plainville that I was going to buy- if you want some info on it let me know. You could pick it up for cheap.

Then I can have something reliable which doesnt get only 8mpg when towing (cough ram 1500 360 magnum)

I know my mpg when towign will be bad I'm sure, but for the 1/2 dozen times a year I will go, I can live with it. Hopefully next year a new silverado will be replacing my dodge, unless something happens, or I can get a hell of alot better deal on another dodge instead.

Well your MPG/$$$ is gotta be better then driving the car to the track. Think of it that way.

E-brakes are universial for the most part if your truck has a trailer pack from the dealer you just neet the adapter harness. You may want to get some helper springs or something like that for the rear. I pulled my Hawk with an f-150 351W it had air bags in the rear and still wasn't very fun driving.

I don't have the tow package on the truck. At this point if I could float another car payment I'd go trade it in, but I'm gonna have to live with it for a year or 2 more.

Plan is to get a trailer, I have a lead on a used one that will probably suit my needs perfectly as soon as I get some pic's of it, get a hitch on the truck so I can get the trailer home, then get the truck to my local dealer to have the brake controler put on ,and to have them go thru it to make sure everything is in good working order. If the load is too much for the truck I will put a set of helper springs on it if need be, I was already looking at them in the summit catalog... but I don't think it will be needed, I've had over 2000 lbs in the back of this truck and it just leveled the thing off, back sits alot higher already.

actually the mileage will probably be about the same LOL, just not 6.50 a gallon. The real reason for the trailer, is so if something were to go wrong at least I can get the car home, not putting wear and tear on the car just driving it to the track

Plus I can go whenever I want too, I don't have to worry about if a trailer is available to borrow, leave on my own schedule, etc.etc.

Yea and I get to sit shot gun

Put it this way, its like 100 miles to LVD, you were paying formally like 2.50-3.50 a gallon of 93, now with the race gas its 6+ same milage but more money, hence the cost being higher. Also the added wear and tear on a awesome motor isnt needed. I think it will pay for itself.

I just got a call from one place, they want 3600 out the door for the trailer, hitch, brake controller, wiring harness, everything installed, trailer registered out the door. I am waiting for a couple other places to call me back with prices, as soon as they get back to me I'll make a decision as to what I'm gonna do. One way or another I'll probably have one in a month or less, so that's done and out of the way.

I'm wonderign about the load helping hitch, I don't think my dodge will need it, but it's not out of the question... I may put one of those addaleaf's in the back of the truck with heavier shocks if I have to though, but I won't know until the car is on it and I'm driving somewhere with it really.

The place quoted me a carmate, open deck 18 foot with the back dovetailed. I want an open centered one in case I ever needed to get under the car at the track, I could do it with the car on the trailer. After seeing someone use one that way at the track get to something once, it seems like a good idea if you're in a pinch.

Little less weight to tow too, I thought about going with an alum one, but when this steel one is 2950 and the alum one was over 4500..... it kinda made the decsion for a steel one pretty easy.
