At this point what I'd like to do with the car is race it in the 10.5 index at one of the area tracks, I think once the car is hooking right it should be able to do that on motor when the weather's good and the track is hooking. When it's hot out/rack isn't up to par, I'll hit the car with a tiny shot just enough to push it back to the mark, at least that's what I'd like to do.

It will eventually get finished off to a 10 pt once I am ready to go faster because I don't find this speed range fun anymore... we weigh'ed a piece of 1 5/8 and a piece of 1 3/4 chromoly tubing, the weight difference was only .1 of a lb per foot of pipe. That beign said it's probably about 6 lbs heavier then all 1 5/8 tubing would be.. so I'll add onto what is there when the time comes.

Looks like you will not have to cut the rear speaker pannles with that set up? I like it.

Thanks guys. I went thru the prep today with some all-prep and a scotch-brite pad, and some rags and cleaned/wiped it all down. The side bars are pretty low actually, because the kirkey's are mounted right on the floor the side bars were able to be put in a little lower then normal and still be at legal hieght. Because I'm a bigger guy, the seat height was something I wanted to be as low as possible, to get my head away from the roof a little, enabling the side bars to be a little lower too. It will be funny if a short guy were to get in the car, they'd never be able to see over the hood LOL. If anyone else ever drives the car, they might need a booster seat. I just climb in the car head first and it's pretty easy to get in and out of actually. Had I gotten in and out of the car without the rollbar the same way, it woudl be really easy... jsut never thought about going about it that way. hell I think i could get ina yugo comfortably that way now heh heh.

I prepped it this morning with some allprep and scotchbrite pads, then wiped it down a few times until the rags were coming away clean.... I have some urethane paint I tested on the floorplates, it came out pretty nice, so this week it will get painted.

Need to get another propane bottle for the garage heater and get to work, by next weekend it should be back together.
