Default F*** New Jersey

There is nothing about this state that isn't screwed up. I believe this is the only state in the country that does not let active duty military keep their out of state driver license when they get their car registered. For the first time in my 20 year career, I will have to surrender my Texas drivers license. Fixing to take my first drivers test since 1983. And inspection lol, I am probably going put my TA in storage until I leave this damn place before I even try that one. New Jersey ******* sucks

why would you change your registration to new jersey? if you still have a texas address for your license you have a texas address to use for your registration.
most of the active military i know actually keep their cars registered in florida or north carolina.

My cars are registered in N.C. I no longer have an N.C. address. Even if I did, I would still have to have them down there for a state inspection before I could get the registration renewed. Same for Texas.

One good thing I learned is that I can use a "civil union" certificate as proof of ID

I've never had to get a NJ license and I've been here for 10 years. There is no way in hell I'm giving up my IL license.

WTF? I was told I had to get my NJ drivers license first before they would register the cars. I even got a damn 80 page handbook to study for the test that's supposed to be a bitch.

Lightbulb

Yeah NJ does kind of suck at times but it is where I've called home my whole life so I can't really knock it too much.

I will agree that some states (yes, Texas in particular) likely has it over NJ in almost all areas though.

any state that uses your "Education level" as an insurance qualification is retarded...oh thats right, New Jersey....

"wait, i dont have any accidents or points on my license but since i didnt graduate high school, im paying $200.00 more a month than my friend whos had 3 wrecks in 1 year...he graduated from Rutgers"....

Yes but I would have to physically drive to Texas to get a state inspection. And I can't do that anytime soon.

thats not even one of the good ones. many new jersey insurance companies account for the driving record of your parents as a part of your rating until you are 25 years old, even if you don't live at home.
the education thing is actually used pretty much every where. higher educated people drive better according to the stats, just like rich people, and those with high paying jobs
by the way, having worked for an inusrance company before. woman actually do hit more **** than men, we jsut hit it harder

The vette is, but the T/A and the truck are registered in IL. Everytime I get pulled over they don't say anything about having an IL license when I tell them I'm just stationed here for the AF.

You got NJ plates on your vette without a NJ drivers license?

Yep. It was no problem at all. You just have to have NJ insurance to get it inspected. I even went through the inspection station on rt. 38 and they didn't say anything about me having an IL license.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to a different place tomorrow. Today I went to the one in Mt Holly and apparently they don't know the laws. I couldn't believe that bs, I was pissed.
