The word's out....
I told Jason I wanted to beat his car this year, I just need to pony up the $$ to do so. I need some AFR205s, anyone got some for sale?
Either that or break the rear.
You wanna beat me this year? It's gonna take a 9 second car to do it.
when you go through tech you need the S.F.I. number and the A number, or serial code type thing.
if you know the sfi number they probably wont even look under the car. especially f-bodies.. there too low to even see anytthing under them. The kid that techs in cars will most likely check under it, but if you get buddy or one of the older guys they wont check.
the sfi flex plate is like $335 the blowshield for a 4l60e is like $340 and the sfi balancer is like $250-$300. oh and if you have an sfi bell housing you;ll need to know the date on it as well. another thing they got more picky with too are fire extinguishers, need them at 11.0 im pretty sure. electriacl fire/ flamable liquid extinguishers are like $6 at walmart, and it mounted on my roll bar pretty easy.
at 9.99 and quicker you need a neck brace, pants and gloves now. and im sure they'll be enforcing that this year.
if you guys ahve any other tech questions ask away...
Will they tech the car on the trailer? If so, then it's easy to look under and see the stuff.
I can get the #'s off it if I have to, but I'd rather not pull the tranny to get the # off the CSR shield if I can avoid it.

Or look at all your purchase slips when you put the car together, and jsut google the parts #.
Im sure you'll find the sfi #
Just looked up some sfi stuff for a friend and heres the pricing:
ASP Underdrive Harmonic Balancer -> $189 SFI 18.1
CSR Super Shield Trans/Flexplate shield for GM 700R4/4L60E -> $299 SFI 30.1 Flex shield, and SFI 4.1 Tranny Shield good for 5 years
CSR Aluminum Flex Plate (only 5.6lbs) Internally balanced -> $289 SFI 29.1 good for 3 years
CSR SFI Flex Plate (non alum) Internally balanced -> $189 SFI 29.1
Chances are if you know you have the SFI part in your car, the SFI #'s above will get you through tech.
I'm more concerned about going to the pinks allout in maryland in june, I am sure teh tech there will be good and I don't want a problem. But, I would like to think they will be teching cars on the trailer coming in, and will be able to see the stuff all on the car and be good to go.
I like ATI's because it takes a whole 5 mins to get from the gate to the booth through tech and be watching all the other cars go through tech!
And JL, it shouldnt be a big deal if its out dated, just give them the SFI spec number, and if they ask for a date just tell them you dont know....
Oh and don't forget, if you have a cage you need a chasis certification. I'm pretty sure you need one of those every 2 years.
Is it a legal cage for the #'s you're running? WJ

The guy that did the rollbar looked everything in the car over and said as long as I get a fire extinguisher, fire jacket and put the longer wheel studs on it would be legal to 10.0 no problem anywhere I go... so I was happy with that. He's built several 25.2 cars and wnotnot that has all passed or local nhra inspection no problem, so I trust him.
the last couple years i go on a wednesday night and get one of the head guys to do an ATI it makes it so much easier. i drive in, get my car, fill it out bring my card with my ati and boom. done. no lines nothing.
my car is 100% legal from cage inspection (up after this year) to fire system, chute, lower control arm catch braces ect ect ect.
what i did was i made a nice list on an index card, laminated it and keep it in the car. done. nice and easy
