Never ever buy akerly and childs bullshit. We were on the final ring measuring for cutting and this happened when removing from the bore.

UTTER BULLSH*T!!! Also I have been trying to get in contact with them all day and to no avail. Garbage!!! We're trying to find another set of rings right now and I am replacing the entire set.

At least it happened before the motor got fired up..... that would have been a disaster if it hadn't.

Good point JL that is what we said here. I have come to learn that these piston rings don't even seem to be the correct ones. I am going to call up SDPC and find out some more information on this.

I dunno if the piston was made specificially to work with that particular ring... if that's not the case I'd be looking into hellfire's or something else that's for sure... after seeing that no way would I stick another set in anything anytime soon that's for sure.

On another note... if you are gonna run a small fuel cell in the front of the car, couldn't you hook up 2 pumps to one of those things and run the nitrous kit with it's own pump off the same cell... saving you from having to have a standalone and a fuel cell? Might save some $ and possibly allow it to be positioned so the cage doesn't have to go around it... might make things easier, it doesn't look like you're at a point where there's no turning back on that.

Just a thought

We got a set of precision circle's going in now picked them up from my engine builder. I was thinking about dave's kit I saw your pictures there. We switched up the front mount cell because I'd rather not go through the hassle of caging it off and adding weight to the front. We have a 5 gallon cell going in tomorrow in the stock location.

What it most likely is, the low light in the shop making the camera need a longer shutter speed, causing a motion blur. It looks more like motion blur then lack of focus.

Either way, good luck with finishing it up!

Matt, what are you doing for a converter ? I'm sure your old one won't be right for the new motor combo. And if your gonna spray it you'll surely need a tighter stall and less gear in the rear which will make it a turd on motor passes.

Just found out that the oil pan is hitting the front connecting rod bolts. Looks like we will be clearancing the pan, not what I really wanted to do but have no choice. Other than having to pull the oil pan and one header back off the longblock is complete.

We went towards the NA route since we needed to change the rings anyways.

Right now we have a 5600 stall, we will see what the motor brings.

Stocker right now. Waiting on the dry sump system for the next motor. We have the longblock complete again but havent done the fuel system yet. We are definitely not making the event tomorrow.
