New mods
it looked awesome, no slip on junk, the entire thing. does the piping stay the same size?
do you think you saved some weight? you must of since you got rid of at least the cat.
Next will have to be tires.Last week they were spinning pretty bad through the twisties but that might of just been me since I feel alot more comfortable riding it now.

Get some new pilot power 2ct's and be done.. awsome tires. medium compound in the middle and soft on the sides.. best of both worlds..

Make sure you get a power commander and have at the tune...
My buddy just bought a new '07 and has the M4 exhaust on it w/no PC3. I walked him on my stock '06 by 2 bike lengths 3 times in a row from a 40 roll LOL.
I think I'm going to go with the same GP style M4 with a power commander, or wait for the new Hindle GP style exhaust to come out.
I agree, stock sucks!

It's not you, those Bridgestone tires suck. I've gotten a bit squirrely on them hard in the corners. I think I'm going to try the Michelin Pilot Powers, but my buddy swears by the Dunlop Qualifiers. He's got probably 20k+ miles on set after set of those, so I'm on the fence.
I'm just use to Dunlops in the car world, and they ******* blow.
BTW, let me know what you decide to do for the tune. My buddy with a turbo 1k, the '07 1k, and my '06 1k are all looking for decent tunes. The guys up here are a joke.

Tuning is important since I see it everyday.Already have a shop down here that will custom tune it if needed. As for tires I'm going to run these some more and get use to sliding around.Back in the day we use to go out in the rain on the windy roads to purposely slide around.Really helped out in the dry weather when you are pushing it.
99Z -I hope in that picture I don't see a good 1/2" of untouched rubber on that back tire

I'm going to go ahead and ditch this Bridgestone real soon. I've got quite a few rolling burnouts on it as of late. Has about 4500 miles on it so it's time for a new one anyhow.
PM me the name of that shop if you want. I'm definately going to need a decent tune within the next month or two.

Are the new Bridgestones that bad? I have the older BT10s that I put on my bike about a year or so ago and love them... I think they came factory on the '01-02 gixxer 1k's
The tire I really liked was the Michelin Pilot Sports from a few years back.. I had them on my CBR900 and they were great but they discontinued them. I'll never run a Dun-Flop again after low siding my '01 RC51.... they took too long to heat up on the street and weren't very soft! Another decent tire from a few years back was the Pirelli Dragons.. but they as well were discontinued!
