If you want a radial for maximum performance at the track, the 15" drag radials perform the best, because they have the most sidewall area. The M/T's perform best on automatic transmission equipped cars. Get yourself a pair of the lightest 15" aluminum wheels you can find w/the correct backspace. Make sure you get a good wheel balance job. This combo will give you the best 60' times. WJ

just gonna use them for the ride to the track a few runs a night and back. So i'd like to get a set of rims so i dont have to deal with swapping tires all the time. Im in no rush as ive only been to the track once!!

Nitto555r's, BFG's or M/T ET Street DR's if you really want to stick! For some, it comes down to driving style and personal preference... some guys can drive their cars really well and make any of the above tires hook.
At your power level (just a lid?) any DR on a 16", 17" or 18" wheel will do just fine and even better once you learn the tire, launch technique, air pressure and so on.... For example, there are some guys going low 11s and high 10s in GTO's with 18" drag radials....
