Default 2 races today

Now mind you, I havent started to figure out my gas milage until this tank is done, I have bout 1/4 when it pulled into the garage.

So anyways we go on a cruise its ScreaminRedZ and PewterScreaminMach and myself. Red has his father's 04 GTO, stock except a B&M shifter, Pewter's car has work done to it, cam, ported LS6 heads, ESP tune, suspension 12 bolt, 4.11's, on nittos with a spec 3 clutch and short throw shifter.

I myself just have a stock weighted T/A minus a 12 disk changer on F1's with lid, catback, Stainless LT's with cats with suspension on a 12 bolt with 4.11's on a stocker clutch.

I was alone, t-tops off and Red had his car with his GF, we know the weight of the car Plus them comes to just about 4,000. Mine is about 3800 with me in it.

We go from a low 2nd gear punch, I would say I was revving 4k, As we punch I instantly start pulling, I had bout 3 cars (other car stated), then I missed 4th. I dont do it often but it happens. I stopped pulling and held. Not a bad race, I suspect I could have gotten 4 by the time we stopped.

Immediatedly after that race, Pewter rolls up, we do a dead stop. I have 36psi in dry rotted F1's and I spin, but nothing horrible, I had to short shift. Pewter had about a half car till just before my 3-4 shift, I held close to him. His car has gone mid 12's so its possible I had a great race and his wasnt so good. Who knows.

Right after though my clutch got real mushy. It only did it for a minute, then was fine. The stocker tends to do that. It had 34k on it now and probably makes 380ish flywheel hp and just cant take the abuse any more. So its going to be clutch time over the winter. I am going to do the Spec 3+, works well in a friend's car and will take the power I may put through it later. I fear no more track running until its done. I cannot afford to frag the tranny.

if your killing t56 with your mods you need to learn to drive. it'll be safe.

with a 12 bolt, gears, sticky tires and a spec3, the driveshaft is all i'd worry about.

cant frag the tranny if the clutch is slipping bad it takes alot of abuse to do damage to theses t56's . although if you have it out might as wel get the steel forks and bronze slider keys

Dont remind me, lol. Budget demands I be good about the abuse. Oh at this power level I fragged a Detroit Tru Trac in my 12 bolt. 1300$ later I had a new unit and killer 4.11's

I am definitly toning down on racing. Been to the track x2 and raced on the street a few times, but even now I'm not doing it. I didnt have a fbody that was driveable for 2 years, this will not be a 3rd.

Yea,the clutch is fine, I have found out much later is that my clutch fluid is shot, I have to monitor it weekly or if I drive it very hard, keeping up with fresh fluid will keep me running till its clutch time.
