I say go TH-400 with a manual valve body, add a overdrive in the future if you miss the highway driving.
We'll the 1-2 is killing me the most.

The converter is a 4000 1.7STR ( I didn't know about the STR till after they sent it)

My old one was a 3500 2.4-5 STR

Basically sacrificing the launch for more top end. But I'm mostly pissed about the shifting. I pm'd them so I'll see what happens.

TH400 makes it suck on the street, so I dunno and I don't have the $ for the OD unit. Might get my stock one rebuilt over the winter locally, buy the Yank PT converter I always wanted and see what happens.

OR just F racing and get a T56 conversion done. (I'm seriously thinking that route.)

11.75 at 116 1.75 60", Banging the 1-2 excessively, Blah...

Yessa Dan.. that's what I like to hear! Ditch the auto and shift the car to your goals! As you can see it can be pretty consistant too...

You would be surprised how much fun a manual valve body is....Let me get my car done, we'll meet up and you can take mine for a blast.....ask Keith how frustrating it is to launch and shift a race car

I still think you should of pulled out the air filter

Hey now take it easy fella... you might hurt my feelings! LoL

Sure it was consistant but also slightly faster every pass... Let's just say I have less than 40 passes ever in the car.... only about 15-20 of them with the blower set-up!! Woot

Danno if you don't drive your car on the highway alot, then the th400 is not that bad, the only time I find it annoying is when you have 30 miles to go and everyone else is going 75, and you're going 65 because ya don't want to spin it to the moon.

4l80 with a manual valve body... that's also an option.

regardless what ya do, I'd get the 4ljunkie out of the car, those tranny's just suck period. You're fragging them up as it is, imagine what it would be like if you were to put something in the car that made another 100 hp...

We put it in gear and let the clutch out and nothing is moving, no ds movement and doesnt feel like the clutch is even spinning. I can push it in and let it out in gear and it doesn't feel like its contacting anything, though there is still plenty of pressure in the pedal. We'll see i am gonna try and get some of it apart tonight because i am already getting anxious to find out whats up with it.

Yeah I really want to keep the OD, plus If I only got 3 gears and no lockup I'll have to change exhausts for sure. I still drive it 60+ quite often for me to go anywhere I have to hit the hwy. 4l80 I would do in a heartbeat, I just need 5 G's, LOL.

Ultimate goal is a Streetable NA 402 500rwhp. There has gotta to be somebody out there makiing atleast the same, reliably behind a 4l60E. If I absolutely have to I might go to the TH400, it's my only affordable option, with the M6 swap being next.

500 rwhp plus a 4l60, is trouble, constant, painful trouble.

Plus the tranny doesn't like input speeds over 7000, so if you're looking ot make 500 rw n/a you will be spinning up in that area or higheer, maybe not at peak pwr but it will pull past 7000 for sure, so the tranny's gonna hate you for that too.

Th400, 28 inch tire for the street and maybe a lockup converter for it, 3.73 gear.

It will cruise uner 3000 rpm that way, perfect.

Who makes and how much for a built TH400 w/ lockup?
w/ a 28" tire it might be viable. a 28" is too much for now though.
