Default Gear ratios, manual vs auto

I was bored so I felt like doing some gear math. I'm trying to calculate what kind of final gears in the M6 would simulate 1st and 2nd gear in an A4 with 4.10's

I figured (A4 1st gear) * (final drive ratio) = total ratio = (M6 1st gear) * (final drive I'm trying to figure out)

So I think the first two gears in A4 are 3.06 and 1.62, and for M6 2.66 and 1.78

It seems like with 4.10s in an A4, 1st gear in an A4 is like having 4.71 gears in 1st gear on an M6. And then 2nd gear in an A4 with 4.10s is like 2nd gear in a M6 with 3.73s.

Does this sound right? I thought the ratio outcome for the M6 compared to the A4 would stay constant no matter what gear you are in, but it doesn't appear that way.
