Default Advise on race

A guy in a bone stock a4 00 ws6 wants to race. He has done nothing to the car in terms of weight, performance, handling... my mods are in sig, and I believe myself to be a fairly decent driver pulling a 13.7 with just the CAI
any thoughts on race outcome.?Or advise to make me beat the pants off this **** talker. there is a bunch of mon ey on the table in my favor

Make sure you can launch from a stop because he is just going to mash it and go.If you spin, you lose.

From a roll it will be close. From a dig, probably the TA.

I raced a stock m6 lt1 in my a4 98 when I was stock down to the lid and we were neck and neck, I was only half a car ahead the whole time cause I got the launch but I couldn't pull anymore. I don't see how you'd have a problem with your mods, I bet even if you mess up the launch you'll be able to run him down. Post back with the results.

You will do fine, you got mods done. But if he decided to mod his car, he can easily hand you your ***.

The Road is the great equalizer.

From a roll the m6 definitly has the advantage, given he doesnt blow the shift or leave at a non-optimal RPM. From a stop, the A4 maybe able out hole shot him and hold off. Alot of varibles to determine winner but I would put money on the LT1 car in either type of race.

Cammed can mean alot of things, just like LS1's LT1's got alot of cam options. Half the time the owner thinks he has something and doesnt. I honestly beleive no one here can say with 100% certainty that one or the other will win.

Go race and post results.

x2 If he's stock you should run him down if he outlaunch's you. Just practice your launch's a bit to make sure u don't spin too hard.

haha... funny stuff.

My cammed LT1 made 351rwhp... doubt your stock LS1 would stand a chance.

ported factory heads/cam I made 383rwhp.

This guys LT1 will own the LS1 if his tune is good. All it takes is a bad tune on cammed car to make it a dog.

BTW, I raced a heads/cam/procharged LT1 when I had bolt-ons only and I pulled him by a few cars from 60-100mph. He dynoed 270rwhp with the setup and not tuning. He got it retuned and finished at ~450rwhp.

Slowhawk knows who this guy is. He used to go to Don's a few years ago, but I havent seen him in a long time.

Plain and simple you can have all the horsepower in the world but if you cant get it to hook up on the street you aint got ****. Ive smoked many cars that should of blew me away but its all on how you launch a car. An A4 LS1 if launched right will do alot of damage on the street. I proved it when I owned mine, i dogged H/C 5.0s, LT1s and even modded LS1's....So in my opinion the LS1 car has a chance and if this guy is betting money on the race I wouldnt take the LS1 so lightly...

My cousin with a 12 second lightning used to beat 10/11 second cars on the street all the time because he'd launch like a mother ******.

Thats all well in good, but you clearly stated if the LS1 can launch it will win.. well here is a news flash, if the LT1 can launch a little, it will run that ls1 down in the 1/4 all day. I was running 12.8 - 13.1 at 109-110mph w/2.2 60's @ 351rwhp in my car. Not the best launches in the world at all, but I'd like to see a stcok auto LS1 run that.

There is a difference in beating the faster car because it spun and you didnt, but you sound cocky and act like you beat cammed LT1's all day. You should have stated none of them could drive or they would have handed you your ***.
