Default tranny shops in PA

just wondering if anybody knows of a good local shop that is familiar with a built 4l60e. mine decided to die so i'm either rebuilding it or going to a th400? to anyone that is running a th400, do you miss the od or is it bearable?

bressler in bernville is a good shop and not to expensive either.

Kool Kar in Shamokin PA.
Had my last 4 trans done there and my glide in my chevelle has like 80 nos passes on it with no problems. my th400 is the same also.

thanks for all the help. i called a couple of the guys you've recommended and they are all in the same price range.i don't want to skimp so i guess it's gonna come down to who can build the 4l60e to live for more than 18 months. i have to decide if going to a th400 is worth it for me and if i'll be happy without the od. if anybody has any experience with a th400 in a semi dd feel free to give me some guidance. thanks again

if over drive is a issue why not go 4l80e?

mins was a daily driver for over a year.... we already talked about it on the phone but i dont know if i would do it again... i mean damn its fun but it depends what your realistic furture plans for the car are.

i want to drive the car when i want to, not to be limited because it's not really streetable if that makes any sense. i usually drive it a few times a week to work and on my days off. i'm thinking of staying with the 4l60e because of highway driving and it seems like the lower powered cars slow down when switching to a a3. of all the threads i could find it seems like the gearing in the th400 is what slows it down and i don't want to go backwards
