Default How to break an axle 101

Step 1: Buy a car not optimized for drag racing
Step 2: Put in FI & cam making over 400 ft/lbs at 2400
Step 3: put off stub to hub upgrade
Step 4: put newbie driver at the helm
Step 5: (pay close atention) Do a John Force burnout on the prior run. Then bog the car as you launch 3800 pounds at 2400 rpm.
Step 6: Figure out why you bogged. Adjust the burnout for final run of time trials and.....

SRA conversion has been done...overkill for this car. Driveshaft Shop makes a Ford 8.8 kit for it. That'll do the trick if needed.

Right now I'm doing the BMR billet stubs with Porsche 930 CVs. Can take 1000whp before it does what mine did. Once the ring & pinion go ("if" really) then I'll look into the 8.8.....or I'll just sell it if it keeps fighting me. It's a cruiser. Always will be.

Now Rick, Barry, & I have a 25.2 Hybrid in mind.....

Well i did show you what could happen! You saw Pauls old axle stubs well all is not lost the Porsche 930's will do fine with the BMR stubs.

The car has a good 11.7 in it!!!

Good writeup. See if a mod can sticky it in the gears and axles forum.
