Oh, and when I jacked the car up I did notice a small bit of play. So I am going to replace it.

Need to get a metal strap type filter wrench, and get it up as far as you can on the filter. Right up by where it screws on the oil pan. Then wrench it loose. It won't collapse it, like trying to strap wrench it off around the middle of it.

The strap won't work at all. I can't get it to tighten down so I can turn it. Is it a reverse thread? If I am under the driver side tire which way should I be turning?

Some of the oil filter wrenches sold at the parts stores are real crap.
It's not reverse thread. It should turn toward the front of the car as you loosen. Counter clockwise.

Wanna hear even better news? My buddy was in his Syclone and we took off at a light. As soon as we took off I smelt coolant. Looked down and it was shooting out his vent. Well, the heater core is a SOB to change. Pep Boys wanted $500 to change it. We are trying to get a heater hose connection and runt he two hoses together. Damn things won't even come off. Been a bad day. To top it off Advance didn't have the Delco plugs for my Tahoe, so basically as of 12pm today we have accomplished absolutely NOTHING.

If anyone can help I need serious help. I went and got two other wrenches and neither worked. The filter is damn near demolished. I dont have a clue what to do. If someone can swing by I would appreciate it.

LMFAO, damn bro, sounds like you've had a hard ******* week. Gimmie a call and ill swing by

Used cars man, used cars. We've all been there. I had the same oil filter problems with my car when I first got it, seems like shops tend to torque the **** out of the filter.

If nothing else, just get pissed and keep tearing at the bitch till there is nothing left of the damn thing, and put a new one on.

Lol, I'll start by feeding him the beer I left at YOUR house . I'm really glad it came off, now you can enjoy the car! I'd still give it a check under and make sure it sealed good, because we definatly scored the oilpan a little bit around there, I dont emagine it was deep enough to hurt anything, but you def should check!

Let it be known, no oil filter can survive the carnage that we put that previous oil filter through.

HAHA, and whats up with your neighbor? He's a tool on the other hand, that gators fan chick was kinda cute
