Thumbs up Four Day Weekend!!!

I would just like to point out that not only did I take off this Friday for a track rental day, which kicks ***, but I just this morning found out that my company is closed on Monday for Memorial day and that means I accidentally gave myself a four day weekend!!!

I wondered why my boss gave me a strange look when I requested it off about a month ago...

make sure there is nothing in your HR handbook saying you must work the day before and day after a holiday to get paid for the holiday

Nope! While it may not be what I'm looking to do long term, this company I work for does have some major perks (hooray for a small, privately owned company whose president and owner is my direct and only boss ). He's very generous when it comes to holidays and treating the employees well in general.

Usually if you take a vacation day before a holiday it is ok and you still get paid for it, if you call in sick then there is a problem.

Damn, I'd probably work for triple time, too. Double time? Eh, no, but triple would do it for me. Although I wouldn't give up the track day for it.

I was planning on not coming in, however uncle sam raped me in taxes this year plus all the expenses with buying the T/A put me a bit behind. I was OK with working until I saw the weather forecast.

Yeah. I have a few things left to do, The vent can should be here today so I can finish assembling the -10 lines that run to it once I figure out where to mount that, I still have to finish cleaning it, and I think I'm gonna change a little bit of wiring as well, just to try to clean it up some more.

Hey, you still up for lining them up this Friday? I put my new ET Streets on this past Saturday and am just itching to get it to the track. I'll need a few morning runs to figure out the setup (haven't been to the track with the new tranny and tires yet), but come early afternoon when it slows down a bit, I'm sure arranging a run won't be a problem if you're still interested.

Oh you bet! It is going to be a good time and I am sure it won't be difficult to line em up a few times. It supposed to be nice out too ::knock on wood::

Did that years ago.

I've just been working 55 to 65 hours a week for so long, a whole month without it, I dunno, I think every project around my house would probably be done and I'd be looking for more stuff to do.

Cool! Should be fun. I'm showing up with a bunch of people that are all running right around what I am, so I have a bunch of friendly competition with my brother and a couple friends.

Knock on wood x2, by the way.

Haha, I know what you mean. I've been working my regular job with a little overtime, teaching music lessons at a school, and doing rehearsals and shows with my band for almost two years now and I just cut out the teaching because the band is getting real busy. Now I feel like I'm being lazy because I'm just working the full time job, a little overtime, and having rehearsals and shows so I get to go home and just sit down a couple nights a week.

I often find myself sitting at my desk kind of zoned out going, "What do I do now?" And then all of a sudden I'm on LS1Tech.
