I asked them if I was going to get anything and they said they didn't do reports for car fires. If I have to I'll get a call number or something from the police

Dude this might be the thing that puts GM under if they issue a recall or see legal action against them.

I just checked my 2006 and no rubbing, but I did put a piece of split loom over the line, for added protection,

There was a link on the first page josh to the GTO forum that showed exactly what it is. Under the driver side FRC there is a rubber fuel line with a yellow tag around it that says fuel. That's what you check

I heard about this happening when they first came out. Cant believe they didnt do a recall to fix the problem. Its a shame they keep going out like this instead of people knowing whats wrong and getting it fixed.

Well the car is totalled and they should be picking it up tomorrow to take to the insurance lot. I thought about buying it back and parting it out but I don't have the money for that. I'm thinking of buying something small and good on gas then stuffing an LS1 in there later

It's about time you bring your *** by again dale. Haven't saw you in about 2 months. Remember to bring my work jacket with you too. Hopefully everything goes well with the truck getting tuned. That sucker is gonna be a mustang eater

Wow just saw this thread, that really sucks. Looks like a pretty crappy issue with the fuel lines.

Yeah if I would've paid more attention when I cleaned the engine bay or if GM would have put something better there I'd be out riding instead of searching for a new car. One thing is certain though. Whatever I get next is gonna be paid off.
