So I got my cam swap started today.
Me and a few friends started my cam swap today. Everything went great. The new cam went in fine, no lifters fell or anything, until we went to remove the pen magnets we used to hold up the lifters and the magnet from one of them came off and is now stuck in the lifter all the way at the back of the head on the passenger side.
So it looks like we'll be pulling the head off that side tomorrow. Pretty much everything else is back together. It would be running tonight if not for this stupid setback.

ya that sucks, that's a reason why I went with metal dowel rods, they won't break like some wooden ones have and nothing will stick in the motor. Good luck getting it out. How long did it take you to get down into the cam?

I wonder if you could have gotten it out w/o pulling the head? Ah well, crap happens... best of luck w/ the rest of the swap.
BTW - I love Comp's description of that cam on their website...
"Hydraulic roller Xtreme energy XE-R Design for standard Displacment ls6 and ls1 Race only applications. Computer tunning required."
