sorry.

another friend of mine has tsp duals and its kinda nice, sounds good, seems to run nice its a stalled (yank ss 3500) bolt on z28 with 3.73 gears went 12.03 full weight. but it drones at highway speed which is where i like to drive and if you lower your car ground clearance wouldn`t be all that great

To the OP what is your driveline setup M4 or M6 and are you running stock gears. If you have a stock geared M6 the drone really isn't going to be that bad because you'll be running well under 2,000 rpms at normal highway speeds. I wish my Mach had a .5 6th like you guys because I love the sound of my Loudmouths but damn they get annoying after 2 grand which is about 70mph.

It's all about perception - I have a high compression 347 with heads & cam. I have Kooks stepped headers w/ TSP TD's. I daily drove the car recently while I rebuilt my DD. It didn't bother me at all, I drove city and highway. I love it, and hardly turned the radio on for the first few weeks I drove it.

When my car was a bolt on only car, my a/f was 12.6 - 12.8 with Pacesetters, Mufflex ORY, SLP D/D, cut out. I did nothing else but swap to the TSP duals and my a/f jumped to 15:1 a/f @ only 4000 RPM. We had to shut it down early and retune the car.

I've seen cars make power with both set ups, basically decide on what you like and buy it. I love the look of the CME personally, buy I hate Y-pipes.

Drone is that headache causing sound like you're in a barrel with a vibrating thrumming sound. Kinda hard to explain, but it happens usually at certain rpms more than others.

My Pacesetter LT's -> ORY -> Borla catback combo is pretty good, except inbetween 2000-3000 it gets pretty raspy. With my driving habits it rarely stays in that RPM range very long, but I'm still probably going to get a bullet for the I pipe sometime to try to quiet it down. It sounds really loud and mean at WOT.

You guys who ditched the duals are wimps. I've had mine for over 4 years now and I still love them. You just have to use the right muffler.

As to the original question, get whatever you think sounds better, unless you get it done by an idiot or do something retarded both setups will make the same power.

i have pacesetter LT's, ORY and a flowmaster catback. i get compliments on how it sounds all the time from other f-body enthusiasts not knowing its got flowmaster. and at WOT its loud as hell but normal driving-- no drone and you can carry on a conversation without speaking loudly. car makes good power for stock H/C ... 367hp/377tq

Dumps will get old real quick. I thought it was cool at first. Lasted less then two weeks, then changed for a over the axle system. It got so bad in side the car that you had to scream to talk to any of the passengers. Center exhaust looks good on most of the later camaro models. That is the way I would go.

I had a Loudmouth with a 224 cam, longtubes, ORY and it got very annoying after awhile. I ditched the Loudmouth and got a magnaflow with a electric cutout. Best setup IMHO. Loud when I want it and quiet when I want it.
