I do not bitch about the safety rules. I don't want to give that impression, they are there for a very good reason. But it aggravates me that they try to keep an old fat guy from having fun!

I've got a Nomex 3.2A/5 jacket and pants if you want to borrow them. Actually, you wouldn't have to wear the pants, the jacket would work.

What's up guys I need help fixing my ls6 block so I can get it dropped in my rx8. Before the motor was built it was hydrlocked and broke the starter ear off the block. I don't have the piece that broke off. I was going to just weld a bolt on there and put the starter on with a nut but it would have to be an aluminum bolt to tig weld it to the block? Anybody know anyone that could fix this? I'm in north Lakeland.

This is smitty robbys brother and joeys cousin I bought a rx8 at a dealer auction last week and been working on it all week to get it running right. Well I found out yesterday the back rotor has no compression so I have a 500hp built ls6 just laying around so I'm thinking about a engine transplant! There's only 2 known ls1 rx8s in the us but Hinson motor sports just came out with a mounting kit for a ls1 swap for $1200! I'll take some pics of the engine today and try to post them.

Thanks man. I don't have the piece that broke off the block so I don't know how I'm going to fix it where I can bolt the starter on? If there's anybody that think they can fix it I'm on the north side and it's obviously out of the car on engine stand. I need to get it fixed ASAP so I can put it in my rx8 or my dads 69 impala SS.

That break is pretty common, normally when a aluminum motor gets hydro locked they do that. And everyone I've seen we got fixed and they worked like a champ

before I get my 84 completely back together, will be looking to have a 6 or8pt cage put in, as a saftey measure, trying to decide if I want swing outs for the doors. the average price is 225 for a 8pt kit... then whatever it'll cost to have it installed....
