I am SO doing this. That is only an hour away from my house.

I have totally the wrong gears (4.30's) and set up, but who cares :-)

1/4 miles and 1/8 just go by so fast so a full mile to just open my car up... I like it.

Seriously dissapointed right now. Well, we'll try and get one or two of the other cars there but, man,...I am dissapointed. Happy we have an event finally here,.....just now that it finally is,....I don't think I can be ready for it.
Dude, we need to get your car done.

Dyno is ready for you, make it happen!

I just checked the site, looks like a great event.

Do you happen to know if there are any sponsorship opportunities available? I did not see anything about this on the site.

Thanks
Mike

Does it really even matter how you do?

You get to drive as fast as you can for one mile. That's enough fun for me even without worrying about times and speed

I need to check with the Mrs. regarding any scheduling issues, but I, too, should be in. Can I bring both cars and pay only one fee to drive both? The CTS-V has a POS factory rear, so this will be a lot more fun than grenading the car like I did at Moroso.

That V will be a monster, think it will surprise quite a few people.

Also, that Magnum that is registered is a beast, it is currently the most powerful late model HEMI on the planet that we are aware of, and went 184 at Texas last year with N20.

I just checked the map and realized this place is way out in the middle of nowhere, the Dade Airport thing is somewhat misleading, lol.

Guess we can get some top speed testing in on the ride over

Yeah, that airport has a strange history. It was meant to be the largest airport in the world and be able to handle a variety of supersonic jets that were never actually built. And environmental concerns stopped building after only the one runway was built.

From memory the runway is asphalt and the airport web detail sites say that it is 10500ft x 150ft so just less than 2 miles long. Plenty of space for a great run. No idea how well it is maintained though.

I've picked a couple of privately transported cars over there before. The 'Dade' designation is because it is still owned and run by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department.

Here is the history of the airport, http://members.tripod.com/airfields_...FL_Miami_N.htm , and an aerial shot, http://wikimapia.org/62639/Dade-Coll...on-Airport-TNT

Regarding driving, it is 30 miles west of the intersection on Krome Avenue and 8th street, on The Tamiami Trail. My drive will be 80 miles from Coral Springs, and based on the V getting about 10-12mpgs, I will need to re-fuel going out there and coming back. I would think there are gas stations on 8th street before you head out on The Trail?!?!? Anyone know if they will have high octane fuel vendors at the event? Also, hope there aren't any sizeable critters waiting for us as we hit top speed.

This is going to be a damn fun time, IMO, more fun that running a 1/4.

Bro, it is possible, to get the car done but,....i'd hate to rush everything right now. Sucks more then you could imagine. But, i'll have my hands full anyways trying to get josh's two cars prepped for the event, as well as Darrens two cars. Possibly another, if they want to but,...already running out of time.

Awesome man. I'm really pulling for you. Can't wait to see what that little ****** does. Should be impressive,.......hoping you call out a few exotics if they show up.

Let me know if you need anything at all.
