Default headlights

has anyone on here with a trans am have/had problems with replacing headlights frequently? since i got my TA in 2008, i've replaced my headlights at least 6 times.

make sure the connection in the back is on tight. also make sure you are tighting the bulb down enough, since it will move if its not. and try useing some elec grease on it.

thanks trevor. i've been using the dielectric grease on them but hey just keep goin out for some reason

Same here , I have had to changed my lights 6 or 8 times in 2 years . Its bull **** ( TIRED OF IT )

i hear ya man. makes me wanna get rid of my car but i just bought new tires so i guess i should keep it around for a little bit

Make sure your grounds are clean. Each light has it's own ground just outboard of the plastic upper radiator shroud. Next test the voltage at the light (backprobe it, so you see the voltage with both lights drawing)

If the voltage is low, or the grounds are corroded ,that will explain why you're going through bulbs.

turns out my grounds and connectors needed to be cleaned. was reading low to no voltage until i cleaned up and put some dielectric grease on everything. so hopefully that works. once again, thanks for the help guys

also disconnect the 5 pin connector and reconnect a couple of times. This often gets some corrosion in them, and disconnecting and reseating the connector will help get a solid connection.
