Make sure your grounds are clean. Each light has it's own ground just outboard of the plastic upper radiator shroud. Next test the voltage at the light (backprobe it, so you see the voltage with both lights drawing)
If the voltage is low, or the grounds are corroded ,that will explain why you're going through bulbs.

turns out my grounds and connectors needed to be cleaned. was reading low to no voltage until i cleaned up and put some dielectric grease on everything. so hopefully that works. once again, thanks for the help guys

also disconnect the 5 pin connector and reconnect a couple of times. This often gets some corrosion in them, and disconnecting and reseating the connector will help get a solid connection.
