good mechanic in north miami I have a good friend of mine down in n. Miami, he has no family or anything in florida and he's needing some assistance. He was told by a local firestone that he needs he freeze plugs replaced in his motor. He drive a '96 tahoe, does anyone on the board have shop in the area or know of anyone in the area that has a shop that would take car of my buddy. He's been quoted between $1300 and $2400 which in my opinion is absolutely ridiculous, it shouldn't take 9+hrs to pull a motor replace the freeze plugs and reinstall it. If anyone has any information and can give me a sense of direction of where he needs to take his truck it'd be greatly appreciated.
I'd really hate to have to take off work and drive all the way to miami from mississippi, trailer the truck back, fix it, take it back to miami, and then come back to ms.

Leaking coolant from the freeze plugs is what he was told, and that's all the info I have to go off of. If I can get reference to a good shop i'd prefer he get it looked @ again. The last place he took it was firestone
