Well P0300 in engine misfire. P0301 is number 1 cylinder misfire. Do you happen to have a scan gauge or a code reader. I doubt you have a Tech2 but something close? YOu need to pull up the misfire graphic and see the current mis counter. If you had something that is on the fly data it would make fixxing your problem a lot easier. I had a truck at work yesterday that had P0300, 2 and 7 were misfiring, come to find out the number 7 plug tip was touching the electrode. & was causing 2 to misfire. With out live data your kinda in the dark. Swap with know good parts and hope for the best.

Edit: If you can get the car to act up you can start by either: pulling plug wires till you find the dead cylinder, on unplugging each coil till you find the one that is missing. If you dont want to mess with the spark you can unplug the injectors one at a time till you narrow the cylinder down.

Sean you obviously read the thread to see what codes I threw, so like the story said, I took it to a shop (Next Level) and Geoff hooked up his Tech 2 and that's how I know it's the #6 cylinder that is misfiring.

So I know which cylinder it is, just trying to isolate the problem.

Well it is weird you have a code for 1 and 6 is the problem. You still need some kinda of on the fly data. So if you swap wire and the mis follows you know what the issue is. Instead of swapping all three componets and seeing if it goes away.

I am doing it one at a time, not my first rodeo after over 6 years with this car lol. Plugs didn't fix it, wires didn't work, swapped a coilpack today, that's not it. trying an O2 sensor tom and then if that doesn't work I'll check injectors and their O-rings.

Leaking intake gaskets will also cause a mis. Same goes for clogged fuel filter.

Confirmed that it's my head gasket. Took a couple hours tonight to pull the top end apart. All I have to do is pull the heads off tom or sunday, have them decked on monday then put it all back together. Couldnt think of a better way to spend my weekend!

Glad you caught it before you hydro locked it. How did you find that out? Compression test or Coolant pressure test?
