bigger cam oppinions
hey guys im finaly coming towrd the end of parts gathering for my build. the only thing left is my cam selection and i have quite a few in mind. any imput would be great. ive decided im going with a forged 346 bottom end bored 20 over with a scat rod clevite bearings mahle pistons and extremely heavily ported 241 heads. patriot gold dual valve springs etc etc and pissibly a 100 shot.
my dilema with cams are between the following
ms3
torquer v3
Comp Cams LSX-r Hydraulic Roller 231 / 247 .617/.624 113 LSA,
Comp Cams LSX-r Hydraulic Roller 235 / 251 .621/.624 113 LSA
or the
Thunder Racing "TR TRuTorq" Level 4 - 227/234 .616/.614 115 LSA
i want something thats gonna have a chopy lope and great power and torque through the mid to high end power band. i know lots of u guys have great info so let me hear it

I would highly highly recommend getting a custom grind. I would talk to some one like Patrick g. He will ask everything about ur build, how big, what heads, pistons, if u are using forced induction or not. And will grind u a cam that will get you the most power

The ms3 will probably make 3-8hp more then the v3 but make the power at higher rpm you will have to rev it more. If you want the crazy chop get something on a 111lsa and that will make you satisfied.
The Comp Cams LSX-r Hydraulic Roller 235 / 251 .621/.624 113 LSA is way to much duration for a 346 and you will have to rev it to 7300 to get the full power out of it. Id will be a slug down low and lower mid range.
The Thunder Racing "TR TRuTorq" Level 4 - 227/234 .616/.614 115 LSA
would be great for a blower but will not have a choppy camin' idle like you want.
The Comp Cams LSX-r Hydraulic Roller 231 / 247 .617/.624 113 LSA, ms3 or tq v3 is what you have to narrow it down to now.

Well I just went from a tr224 to a comp xer 236/240 601/608 113+3 and patriot dual golds. Alot of people said its too much, but so far it drives pretty good and revs to 6900 with no issues. Here is a vid from the other night when I finished it. The fuel trim needs a little work due to stepping up injectors.
