any powdercoater can sand or acid treat the chrome off the wheel.

Please note - I have heard the "chroming" process changes the molecular makeup of the wheel, and makes them unable to be powdercoated (something about the electrical charge not adhering or something....). I could have been misled, but a few people told me that. It may just take significant prep to do it right.

I have heard of that, pretty sure with the right prep work they can be done. Not sure if i'm doing a rechrome or powdercoat quite yet but i'll check those places out.

Thanks

There's been a lot of attrition in the plating business,
environmental regs are killing the Mom-n-Pops (who
a lot of times have polluted the groundwater beyond
their ability to afford cleanup). The one local to me got
bought out by some outfit over on the west coast of
Florida and just operates as a satellite front office, take
it in and ship it over.

So most likely you will be paying shipping whether it's
buried in the counter price or you ship it yourself.
That means you might not care about local.

Is the chrome peeling off?? Just a F Y I , A good shop can powder coat over chrome.(Ive done TONS of rims and HD parts) Some of the candy and translucent colors look amazing over polished or chrome parts. Esp. Black Chrome or Translucent Black.

(Sorry Im not set back up here in FL. yet to do any coatings again yet)

Well the chrome is peeling ever so slightly around the lugs and the inside of the wheel. Three wheels are pending sale so dont think I'm going to bother with it much anymore.
Thanks though
