Heads Up Standing 1/2 Mile Airstrip Event March 24th, 2012!! Hey guys saw where www.wannaGOFAST.com is doing this event again on March 24th it's super fun here's a video from one of their past events. Had several LS series and other amazing cars out there last time it's definitely worth the trip! Top Speed Motorsports is sponsoring and bringing out their 911 GT2 Racecar!!

Question:
I've seen a few videos at this strip, but it looks like the cars that race each other do not go from a dig. Am I wrong? How do they know when to hit it? IS anything clocked? Like 1/2 mile time or end speed?

Cars are allowed to go from a dig or a roll, whichever you prefer. If you go from a roll there are 2 big cones that mark where to start accelerating. The 1/2 mile trap speed is clocked, but not the elapsed time.

I've attended both of these events last year. It's literally a whole day of racing, it's both laid back and well organized. Plus, if the significant other comes along, the Carrabelle area is actually rather scenic. I highly suggest renting a townhome for a night or two from a realtor. It's actually about the same as a hotel room, but larger and nicer. I had a place last October that was on the river inlet to the Gulf. I hear this year that race gas will available and a dyno will be there.
