Anyone in Central Florida who is willing to help me do a cam swap on my 00' Z28 I'd be willing to pay for their time and supply snacks and beer.
I am looking at the weekend of March 29th because I have that Friday off work.
My garage is available to use, but I don't have all the needed specialty tools such as pulley puller, spring compressor etc. So it might be beneficial if we used your facility.
I have the following parts:
223/231 cam
.650 lift springs
titanium retainers
LS2 timing chain
Melling LS6 style oil pump
Comp Hardened pushrods 7.4"
Under-drive pulley
What other parts will I need besides fluids?
I've done LS motor builds before, (but that was at my dad's shop in michigan with a lift and all the tools I needed), so I'm not a noob, But I've never done a cam swap on an F-body while the engine was still in the car. Hopefully we can knock it out in one weekend because this is my daily driver.
I'm still pretty new to the area, so kinda looking to make some friends too.

I talked to Troy at FTI converters today, Looks like I'll be going with a 3800 stall and he recommended a local trans builder for my 4l60e.

Few things you should get before hand.
1. New Balancer bolt
2. timing cover gasket, water pump gaskets, front balancer seal ( new V/C gaskets would also be wise since you are there)
3. plan on a tune asap .......

Also be careful of local 4L60E builders around here. Not very many people/shops that I found that can do them and live more then 6 months. Also plan a tranny cooler when you install a stall into it. Hope this helps.

The trans builder was referred to me by FTI, his names Don in Eustis, FL

Mike aka Kwiksilzerz28 offered to help me and he has the valve-spring tool so i'm not going to buy one. I think I'm going to use the wood dowel method for holding the lifters up.
