Doing a shortblock swap here real soon
Well, long story short- Hydrolocked my car and threw a rod through the block a month or so ago, and after a lengthy back and forth, Progressive has basically told me to **** off and denied the claim, as well as leaving me with a 350 dollar "diagnostic fee" for having the dealership use a boroscope, which THEY wanted.
After searching and coming up empty while looking for an engine locally, I've decided on a TMS forged piston shortblock that I'm going to throw my AFR's and MS3 at. I can't find anyone local to do the work for a reasonable price (2500-3000 is ridiculous, I did this exact job by myself with one hand fucked up in less than a week while jacked up on painkillers less than six months ago), so I guess I'm going to bite the bullet and drop a leave chit and do the work myself. The only issue I'm coming up with is lack of facilities... I'm guessing the hobby shop on Mayport would be my best bet.
Anyone else have any ideas? Located in Jacksonville, BTW. If anyone is interested in helping out with a location, labor, or equipment, I've got cash and parts I can throw your way. Ain't much, but hey...

Give Josh Brubaker at East Coast Auto Care a call. He did mine and was very reasonable.

To be honest I had the motor installed by a shop, so there's not much I can say as far as the install, but I definitely can say that I like the 370 over the LS1. It's been treating me great...no issues in the 10 months that I've had it

yup. Also going to finally throw on the Yella Terra ultralights that I've had sitting BNIB for 6 months, and probably wrap my headers after I spray them with a black oxide converter. Heads will be off, so It'll be easy to make some check springs and shim them right.

Just an update: I haven't actually done much with the car. The rain every day when I get off work kind of kills my motivation. However, engine should be here Monday or Tuesday, so I'm going to start disconnecting everything here tomorrow or Sunday (basically do everything except unbolt the subframes).
BTW, anyone have a hoist I could borrow? Going to try to drop the whole front cradle, that's the way I've done it before (also always did it with a lift... I'm spoiled, never actually wrenched much in my driveway... Always had a shop before)
