i live near dirtybird and camaroextra just north of orlando. It doesn't have all the tourists or the high prices and you're within a short drive of everything. Crime is very low around here, no ghetto mcghettersons for miles which is always a plus. I'm never moving away from this place. i've been all around the world(and the US) and nothing comes close to florida.

yea, the weather gets nasty hot sometimes, but at least we never have to shovel snow or take our cars in to get a 5-gas test.

I love Tampa. Doesn't get as hot and humid as some of the other places and the tech market seems to be picking up quite nicely.

Ive spent alot of time on the west coast of Florida and I agree Tampa and Ft. Myers are real nice places, its almost like going to another part of the world when going there from the east coast.

Cant believe no WPB guys saw my recommendation for Tamarind though.

I have never been to Fort Myers, but I have been to Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater on vacation and I loved it. I am really hoping to find a decent job in Florida. It sounds like there are a few really good cities to consider. Thanks.

I'm from St. Claire Shores area.. I live in Sarasota, but the housing here is getting a little out of control also. If you do plan on moving down here, buy a house QUICK. It will only go up in price, and up and up... Welcome!

I personally have been in almost every city in florida and heres what Ive seen. This is not a put down to anyone just what Ive seen personally.

Miami- very crowded everyone is very unpolite and yes you need to speak spanish
there. Alot of very rich areas but even more trashy areas. I want to shoot
myself every time I go there. This town makes me go nuts.

Palm beach-Nicer than Miami but still very crowded and bad traffic. Very nice rich
areas but not to many trashy areas. They are kind of sections alone.

Treasure coast-This is were I live. Traffic is gettin pretty bad. Alot of nicer areas, not
to many trashy ares. prices of houses has doubled in the last 5 years. Not alot
to do for fun. Actually make that nothing to to for fun. Tracks are Moroso and
orlando both depending on where you live are 20 to 1 hour away.

Orlando and close areas-There is always somehting to do. The city is of couse
crowded but once you get alittle away its not to bad. track is very close. Very
nice areas with little trashy areas.

Gainsville-Always something to do. Very nice areas ,some trashy areas. Traffic not to
bad. But I felt isolated there. Alot of nice big trees.

Tallahassee-One word "sucks". There isnt anything to do unless you like to drink.
There are no other towns around so you are isolated. Traffic is terrible. You might
as well live in north Georgia cause thats how it feels. I couldnt wait to move
away from there. No tracks anywere.

Tampa-There is alot to do. Traffic isnt to bad. Some nice areas. The trashy parts
that Ive been in seem to go forever. Mix of nice people and scum bags. Very high
crime from what Ive heard. Alot of race tracks.

The keys-Another one word "sucks" I had to live there for a short time and I hated it.
Bad traffic. Unless you own a boat and like to drink there is nothing to do. I lived
there when I was in seventh grade ,when I came and visited in 10th grade all of
my old friends turned into alcohalics and drugies cause theres nothin better to do.
No race tracks that I know of.

Alright thats my experience in florida. Take it for what its worth. Once again Im not downing anyones town . Ive just been alot of places and this is my personal experience. Ive either lived in ,or been in these cities for a prolonged period of time working. If I had to chose, I would live in the northern orlando area.

i love this...totally leaves out jacksonville...but im not hurt, i like how no one knows about the most laid back big city in fl.....OVERALL st. augstine is the best city to live in, history, small quiet town, not far from daytona or jville, great beachs and good surf...now as for some of the other towns...im not gonna hate on alot of peoples cities but i have lived in fl all my life and i DO know alot about some of the other cities....

MIAMI> way to crowded, exspensive, no natives of fl, u get smacked by hurricanes once a year, and then the plus is south beach
TAMPA> my gfs from tampa and besides some of the out burbs, its kinda dirty ie ybor city
ORLANDO> tourist capital of the world, no beach, lots of old people...but theres fun things to do
JACKSONVILLE> its my town sooo id rather keep it a secret and low pro. but we do have great beachs, low tourism, great fishing, 30 mins north ur in ga, 30 mins south ur in st. aug. 30 mins east ur on the beach, and 30 mins west ur in the country where no one bothers u...along with it dont cost much to live there....
