i know they buily a 4L80e and it constantly broke with a mid 10 second car. not cool IMO.

there are other tranny builders in tampa that are awesome and will stand behind their work. mine was built by transmission physicans in tampa. killer guys. they arent a sponsor so i cant publicly give their number out. PM me if needed.

+1 for Transmission Physicians. Right now we are building my 98 Trans Am. It is my car but its kinda going to be considered their shop car. We are going to build an eight second 4L60e car. SBC with a big single turbo. Looking for 1200 hp.

Fernando and Chris from TP are the ONLY guys I know who can build a 4l60e that can last. They have many many 10 seconds 4l60es with zero problems.

That's funny, we're about to put a 4L60E behind a 1200hp turbo motor and shoot for low 8's. Sounds like someone didn't do a good job.

But if you MUST have a 3 speed, I would go with the 400. It will be just as expensive after you buy a new driveshaft, cross-member, shifter, torque converter, and have a custom base built to hold the shifter. Only bad thing is... In my personal opinion... it sucks to drive on the street. I don't personally care for a motor spinning a million rpm's to go 45 mph. If it's a drag race car only, it fine. For the street I don't like it. That's just a personal opinion.

then your builder is retarded and incompetent. there are so many 10 second timeslips with 4L60e on nitrous in tampa due to a certain 4L60e builder....its not funny. sucks you got ripped off. do it right the first time i keep telling people. its a joke you cant keep an 11 second 4L60e in your car to go pass after pass after pass. talk to transman.

my 4L60e went 1.4 60' times and 10 second passes all day on nitrous smacking it out of the hole every time.

Thats what happens when you get morons at the dealership to build them for you.
