Default Is my seat gone?

The seat belt holder on the top of the driver's side seat is no longer usable. The bolt holes used to hold it in place are totally hollowed out.

Do I need a new seat for this? Can I drill new holes? How can I fix this??

you can use a bigger screw or put some JB Weld in there give it a day or two to dry good then drill a new hole (smaller than the threads on the existing screw) and let the OEM screw make the new threads.

I wanna know who the chubby white kid is that was working at the track friday night at the end of the night. I was going to run and I DONT RUN in the right lane. Had a bad experience with the dip and asked him to run tower side like I always do. He practically ignored me then brushed me off and shook his head no. Came back around cause they hot lapped lanes 1 and 2 and he looked my car over a lil and put me into the right lane again on purpose! Pissed me off pretty bad. Noone has ever had a problem letting the drivers take a lane that they want, especially when it wouldnt cause a problem.

Sry, thread hijack and rant over....

No Caveman, I got away with my V6 comment virtually scot free .

Also, what drill bit would I use to match the OEM bolts??

Sorry about the bad experience KC. I know who that is, and in his best interest I am not going to release his name. I pull cars how the customers ask, and there are certain rules that I have to abide by as well. Sometimes people get pissed off at me for "Shutting down the lanes too early". Well, if the first two cars that ran are back up front, then I guess that means that you're a little too late?

OK, sorry to bring this back, but Randy told me to just put some JB weld in the holes and then use some screws and just thread them in before it dries up. I will have to take out my seat so that I can lay the seat down on its side.

Quick question. He said something about diluting the JB weld so it's not so thick. I think he said to use water, but I may be mistaken. Does anyone know how to use this stuff, because I never have. How much of the black bottle, how much of the red, and how much water should I be using?

Whoever told you that is a moron, you'll never get the screws out again without ******* up your seat if you put them in when the jb weld is still wet. Just mix it how the instructions tell you how to, put it in and let it dry. Then drill it with a drill bit the size of the cylinder part of the screws (how thick it would be without the threads)

Personally I don't see when I'll be taking that bracket out again.

However, if I am to drill this out, what size is the bit for the OEM screw?

I'm not sure if anyone is going to know this off the top of their head. I'd just grab a set of drill bits and find one thats closest to being the same size as the cylinder part of the screw. The threads on the screw should tap the JB weld.

Yeah, if its a warm day, you should have no need to thin out the JB weld. You only need a small amount as it is.

Yea, I grabbed a syringe from the Publix Pharmacy and coated the screws in JB weld, tried to shove as much as I could in the holes, but little went in. For added protection I put some on the back of the bracket. Hopefully it will hold. Probably going to get new seats or have them re-upholstered when I graduate UCF. I finished roughly 30 minutes ago and it looks pretty solid. Car is cooking out there so it should be dry by the time I have to use it tomorrow.

Thanks everyone! I'll keep everyone updated!

I have run 160 in that right lane at least 10 times and you see alot of Pro cars go down that lane at over 200mph( Tim Lynch 221mph right lane , Chuck Sammuels 222mph right lane at Fun Ford on Sunday) , it is a small dip about the 1000' mark no big deal.
