Windshiled Tint Does anyone have their windshield tinted? (not just the strip across the top) catch any crap from the cops?
also, if you did get into an accident and you were at fault, would insurance cover you since you have the windshild tinted?

2) you are not right about insurance automatically covering you in all cases. read the policy language or talk to your agent.
IMO its stupid to have tint on your windshield. how dark do you really need it?

yeah i know about the as1 line, i want the strip across there and then go 50% (i'd go 35% but i drive a lot at night) to cut down glare and protect my dash, (dash mats are gay IMO)

In my ss I have all of the windows tinted 5% and the whole winsheild is tinted 35%
I got pulled over for speeding once and the trooper looked at the winsheild to check out the as1 line to see if it was past but he couldnt even tell the whole winsheild was tinted so he didnt do anything

I've always wondered, as I can only remember seeing 2 cars with the whole windshield tinted. I know its illegal, but wondering how bad it would be.
I only have around 20% or something on my side windows and hatch, I had 5% on my 83 Z28 and couldn't see out the sides at night, which really pissed me off.

I have 15% on the sides and 5% on the back. I would have gotten the strip at the same time but my windshield needs to be replaced, its scratched and streeked to all hell. There are also water spots on it that will not come off for the love of torque

I would like to get it done in the future to help with the glare. A buddy of mine has 50% tint on the windshield, you cant really tell it is on but it helps cut glare and even makes the other windows look darker.

I have 5% all the way around and 35% on the entire windshield...it really isnt that bad at night..If you can live with 5% tint on your other windows, than having 35% on the windshield is nothing. I got my windows tinted when i lived in NC, and your only suppost to have 35%..My freind back up there in NC has a black SS, with 2 layers of 5%..and 20 percent on the windshield..When you test the side windows they test like 2.2% or something..its crazy..you cant see **** out his car at night. I actually need to get my windshield re-tinted b/c its starting to get some little tiny bubbles in it..will pretty much any tint shop around the orlando area do it? or am i gonna have a hard time finding a place to do it?

This can acctually work against you...
A lot of times you have to be able to see the driver of another car to see what he's looking at and judge his intentions...
For example, if someone is stoped at a stop sighn (in this case you) and you have no stop so you keep going but look at the other person and see that they didnt even notice you coming.....they might slow down to avoid an accident or honk at you....
There are many cases where eye contact with other drivers is important....
Thats why i think its kinda stupid to tint the front windshield....
I use polarized sun glasses and they make life worth living....

i have always tinted my windshields. my truck i have now is 28% on the windshield, and 3% on the rest. i have gotten tickets, but i have a cop friend sign them and pay 5 bucks and thats all. i think it makes the cars look waaaay better, and the a/c works better, too.
