Default Schrader Valve ... HELP!!!!!!!!

Trying to put the Schrader valve back into the fuel rail ... never had any issues putting it back in before, but, today it won't clear the lip to seat into the end of the fuel rail ... even tried lightly tapping it in with a hammer and it won't go in. I've tried backing it in and then screwing it in clockwise and still no luck ... anybody got any ideas? I'm stuck dead-in-the-water.

Josh, you on? Wen you had a problem with yours how did you get it back in, finally?

do you have a round file? stick it in and ream it out slightly on the edge. sounds like it got smushed. or, just get a -4AN cap to block it off.

I've ran into this problem before and just replaced the schrader and the new one installed just fine. A/c fittings do the same thing sometimes!

If I use a rattail file, won't it risk the chance of clogging an injector? It's blocked off with a cap right now, but, I wanna' get the valve back in there in case some unknowing mechanic decides the fuel pressure needs to be check and unscrews the cap to get gas spewed in his face ... just a safety precaution is all. I'll try a new valve. If it doesn't still go in, I'll do the file thing and use an out pull with the file until it's good. Thanks guys.

you won't be filing enough off to matter. if anything, put some oil on the file to hold the shavings.

Any auto store should have them. There are a few different styles between manufacturers but most late model GM's should be the same.

i had jeff look at it at NLP and it turned out the fitting off the fuel rail was bent. he gave me a SS line and a end cap for $10.00 problem solved instead of buying a new fuel rail for $40.00.

you can go buy a AN cap at american motor sports
