Cam Install $'s
02 SS A4.
Locally, what is the going rate for cam/springs/tune install?
Labor only,no parts needed. Is it unrealistic for under $1000.?
Might be willing to travel.
Thanks.
Brian

Bill over at LaMotta's in Longwood did mine. He's good ... owns an F-Body,a swell. they accidentally charged me under $800 for the install no tune. Afterwards, they showed me the actual book time for the job and it should have actually been about $1,100.00. That's at high-performance shop hourly labor for time.

I've done a cam/spring intall myself on 2 ls1's now and it's actually pretty damn easy....ls1howto.com was the site me and a buddy used and took about 10 hours going slow and doing everything by the book but it is definitly accomplishable with some basic knowledge and a good tool chest...i would say between 750-1,000 on average depending on where you go...

I can not BELIEVE how much labor chargers are around Florida
I swapped 4 camshafts in my car over the past 6 years and paid between $275 and $350 PER swap. These were camswap ONLY prices; I paid as little as $175 for spring swap.
After seeing some of the prices posted in this thread, Whistler's price looks like a steal
I'd recommend EVERYONE take his offer.
