Default Looking for a Browning .25 cal auto handgun

Browning preferred, but, let me know if you have something else. Cash available for a good weapon. Might consider a .32 cal, as well. Has to be registerable and not hot.

Hey, thanks. I was looking at the Sigma line, however, not real interested in the polymer lower half of the weapon. They're definitely very lightweight and nice. I'm looking more into a solid, machined lightweight all-metal piece.

Appreciate the insight. My cousins have always found their best gun deals at FloridaGunExchange in Port Orange. They're probably one of the best dealers in the state.

For protection I would certainly consider something bigger that a .25 or .32. I'm not too sure that either of those would stop a gun crazed maniac. One of my crazy uncles got shot in the chest once with one of those small calibers and he didn't even go to the doctor until infection started to set in a week or so later.

I was thinking of selling my HK 45 usp. It's a nice gun, but a little too big to carry, at least for me anyway. It stays home in the night stand right now.

Any gun will stop a person if you hit them in the right place.

I've never had to use my gun for self defense, but if it ever happens, I just can't imagine the attacker holding still while I take perfect aim at the "right place".

I agree w/ RazorBlade, you may want to look into something a little bigger in caliber, or what I like to call "stopping power."
I've got a .40 Glock 23c w/ 13 rnd hi-cap mag that conceals quite nicely ;-)
However, if you're looking for a solid all metal piece to carry, Glock really won't be your style. I highly recommend the brand though for solid, dependable craftsmanship. I've shot over 500 rounds through mine so far and not once had one jam on me, knock on wood.

9mm is the smallest you want to go in terms of actually shooting another person. id do a .38 they arent that much more for ammo than the 9, but pack much more punch.

Yep, I run at OSW on T&T nights, so it's still kinda hard to hook up. I was surprised with the result when I finally figured it out. Thanks again for the killer deal.

Back on topic. Sorry about the hijack. I think with a carry weapon, the key is finding something that is a tolerable size that still carries some punch. I've been thinking about getting something a little smaller. I love my .45 but it's way to big to carry.

I want something small enough to carry in my pocket that's concealed ... when I'm away from the house. My dad carried a Browning .25 auto with high grain rounds. It saved his life twice. 9 hydra-shock rounds will stop any human threat within a 5-10 yard radius or closer. For the house I have a .38 snubnose and a Ruger nickel finished peral handle .45 . I'm just looking at a small frame handgun for now.

Exactly. Doesn't matter what caliber it is, you put enough lead into a person and they'll stop.

look at a glock 19. its a compact, not the smallest, but shoots well, parts are everywhere and its easy to service. my buddy has one and its a very nice gun. you can find them for around 400 used at a show and will fit in your hand and be able to hide well imo

You know Florida doesn't have gun registration, right?
Check the serial number of any gun you buy person-to-person here: http://pas.fdle.state.fl.us/pas/item/displayGunSearch.a

Just learned something new ... so just a cool-off period of 3 days and you can buy a handgun. With a concealed weapon permit, no cool off period is required.

Still looking ... anybody?
