lol not trying to start a flame war or anything and I probably shouldn't even post this but you do know that the "little cobalt motor" will make 1400hp more easily and cheaper than an LSX right?

disclaimer: I know only **** drive cobalts and no one cares if they have 10 billion hp but I just wanted to state that fact for the record.

Yea and the motor probably lasted long enough for the dyno then.... Bang!!! But, they won't tell all the kids there that in hopes they all will fall into the ricer belief of wow I can make that much HP from just a turbo, intake, and exhaust. I would have to call "Shananagans" on that being cheaper, and you seem like one of the kids who bought into this crap at NOPI. As a Saturn driver what do you know about an LSX... probably nothing!

Dont having anything against cobalts or redlines. I respect anything that can go fast. The only problem i have is a 16 year old kid who thinks he top dog and can beat everything in site. Then calls people out for no reason and
keeps get *** handed to him. Thats my only problem.

P.S. on the little cobalt motor making 1400hp, I think a LSX would hold up a lot better then a cobalt motor just my .02

Corey, I will take a 100,000 mile LS1 out of a 98, with weak rod bolts...put $1500 into it and make 425 wheel...how much would that cost in an ecotec?

PS-I love you lol

You know a couple weeks ago when I was racing at Lakeland Dragstrip a guy in a GM uniform that obviously worked at a dealership decided that I would want to check out his Cobalt ( after he checked out the Vortech Blower setup on my Formula). He watched me run 6.25 then told me how he was running 20lbs of boost and a 75 shot and his car was flying in the 1/8<<-(acording to him) ,it was running 8.4s.

Oh god here we go.

See I didn't get personal or anything I was just trying to have a conversation about some GM motors.

Just so you know you can build a 1400hp ECOtec at the beginning of the race season, beat the **** out of it all season and it never needs to be rebuilt or done anything to. Also, the motors can live at 1600hp easily but the NHRA won't let them.

I wouldn't go picking on people because what car they drive, you don't know what I do and what I've done and that just makes you a really ignorant person.

lol, love you too buddy.

I agree 100% with you, you can make 425 alot easier on a LS1 than an ECOtec but you have to take into account what power level a LS1 is starting out at.

I was just trying to debunk the "little cobalt motor" comment buy stating that it can make more power overall more easily and cheaper than can be had on a LSX.

I love me some LSX and you know that but It just makes me cry when people hate on things they have no idea about, which is what he was doing.

^^
And all the stuff you have on your Ecotech you should have like 600hp right? I wasn't trying to get personal, you just have to realize how many NOPI and ricer kids say this stuff all the time and talk about how they have 400-600 hp in their 4bangers....then you see their car and its more like 250-300hp.

I completely agree, kids in cobalts are and trust me I hate them alot more than you do.

Lets just call a spade a spade here, we all love cars thats why were spending our time on a forum b.s.ing about cars and I was just trying to quell the ECOtec hate around here and spread some knowledge.

and to the p.s. the ECOtec requires no teardowns or rebuilds between runs and suffers from the most severe restrictions in the NHRA and still is able to beat everything in the field. I have no advanced knowledge of the LSX but all I know is that there was only one T/A at Moroso this weekend and it burnt my leg with it's exhaust and ran a really impressive 6.16 @ 214 but currently ECOtec does not run in the Pro RWD category so a direct comparison is impossible.

ok I'm getting to detailed here, all I'm trying to say here and don't hate on stuff just to hate on it, we're all GM so where's the beef?

Nope, not even close.

The Eaton sucks. Now if I was to steal my cars soul and remove the blower for a turbo we'd have a different story but thats a personal problem I have.

I bought my car to be unique and I it puts a smile on my face every time I hit the gas and hear that whine.

Or when I hit the gas next to a cocky v8 owner and they hear it

No one is hating on the motor, its just your looking at a race version of that motor, one that no one would ever see on the street in a street legal car. You can have a 9 sec street legal LSX but never a cobalt ecotech. My buddy has a cobalt SS with A LOT of mods, including a big turbo and he is only in the mid 12's. Props for what you have done to your car, we all have different tastes in cars, but you have to look at realistic streetable hp not what an NHRA car has.

My argument was with the "little cobalt motor" that's all.

Also, not trying to be a smartass or anything but this car runs 9.31 @ 158 with 80% stock parts, even has full stock interior
