Tropical Storm/Hurricane Fay
Hey Guys,
I just wanted to wish any of you on the SW Coast good luck this Monday and Tuesday. I'm sure most of you guys are putting your shutters up right about now.
Stay Safe,
Vince

Good luck to anyone in the path. I'm lucky that Gainesville is in the middle of the state. Should break up quite a bit before it gets here. Unfortunately, it still means rain for at least 10 days.

Then after a little bit of wind and some rain they get interviewed by the news and their like, "OMG it was terrible, I stayed in the house for a few hours(possibly a day or so) b/c of the rain and wind but I survived....I SURVIVED!!!"
And while the rest of us sit back and laugh and have a

Exactly... the media's going to hype everything up(this storm at least), get eveyone scared, have everyone running around like fools thinking the world's about to end.

I'm on the East coast, so I'm not putting mine up; but a lot of people in the Naples, Port Charlotte, and Bonita Springs area are freaking out over this - not so much because of the media, but because a lot of people no longer have insurance on their homes and businesses. They're taking every precaution available.

Don't get me wrong, if the NHC reports anything from a level 1 hurricane and up and I'll throw the shutters on, but so far it does seem like what it is... A bad tropical storm, lots rain, some wind, flooding and some power outages... I just hope this doesn't turn into a "hurricane" situation with the wind and the **** flying and the increased tornadic activity... I've got my fingers crossed.
I'm not gonna buy the hype until they tell me it's a hurricane.

Yeah I'm not getting excited over this one, but as I said earlier, it gave me and my dad a reason to get some tree trimming done. I went to the grocery store to get some cooking oil for dinner and had forgotten about this TS/Hurricane and so many shelves were empty.

Amen brother! I'm hoping she plows through quickly as I have a flight to Michigan on Thursday, and I sat in the gate for 3 hours two weeks ago in JAX waiting for lightning to clear!
