I'd ask texas-speed if they have the clevite 77 coated bearing set, I don't see it listed on their site. They'll be a lot more expensive, but worth the $ in my opinion.

Bearings
Pick up a gasket set (obviously). What else do you want to change?

Studs provide a significantly greater amount of clamping force than studs, and don't pull on the threads during the torquing process like bolts do. Think about what happens when you install a bolt and tighten it, there is massive resistance against the threads as you tighten to clamp, a stud is installed, tightened by itself, then the washer and nut go on and evenly clamp the head to the block.

sounds good .. just looking to upgrade rotating assembly minus the crank....not looking to gain massive amounts of displacement either... just sumthing stong that will take lots of boost...i dont see myself running more than 14 psi. Im looking for a clutch as well think in gonna get a spec stg.3

Pick up a spec 3+, you won't go wrong. Still excellent drivability, but it holds over 800lbs of torque, just make sure you break it in right. You'll be fine on a stock crank @ 14psi, and that setup will SCREAM dude. You'll be VERY happy. What injectors and fuel system are you running?

if by sleeve u mean cylinder walls .. then no. I havent pulled the pistons all the way out yet but i turned the crank to lower them in the motor and the walls look great..Still can see most of the factory cross-hatching . Excuse my newbness ...

Sweet deal then, that sounds like the best case scenario. Sounds like a good excuse to get forged pistons & rods then!

That's awesome dude if you can pick up that 383 kit, never heard of the rods, and not real thrilled about the rings TBH, I've run speed pro rings before, they work okay, but I'd rather run the je-style rings that usually come with the pistons, otherwise, run it! =)

rods pistons and bearings r the plan, but im having a hell of a time finding boost pistons(-13cc) w/ good rings, that will fit stock bore(4.000), stroke (3.622), and rod length (6.098)

found a great deal through scoogin dickey. But its with -2cc flat top Manley Pistons. Because this assembly would be utilizing the stock crank i was told that the minimum valve relief would be sufficiant. And my compression wound be about 10.4:1. .. thoughts !?

I really want this to be the solution cause he put together such a great deal.
