Finally ... My nine second six speed.
Wow custom irs 400 setup thats really awesome. Putting a turbo kit together is one thing but putting together a custom driveline like that is impressive. What times are you looking to run with that. I dont think ill ever change my 6 speed i love banging through the gears. But who knows maybe after the car is together after a few years i might swap one in for a couple track passes to see all its got.
I hope to run some 8 second passes IRS. I was also a big fan of the six speed, but after a certain power level it becomes more of a head ache. The corvette guys have to deal with a weak differential issue due to the unique design of mounting the transmission in the rear. Any sort of wheel hop or flex, the diff will take out the tranny main shaft. Then the clutch holding 1000+ rwhp, 1000+ lb/tq will start to show signs weakness rather quickly. I figure leave the gear smashing to my super charged c5 which is much more fun *700rwhp 630lb/tq.

With that kinda trap speed you need a cage.Just say the car that just left the line in your lane, blows a radiator line on the big end? And It goes unseen and at that trap speed you hit coolant. All that money you got in that car and you wont install something that will save your life.
And you can't say its not going to be at the track. If you going for 9.45's your gonna be their alot. From 9.9's to 9.4's is gonna take some passes. You have a fast car treat it as such, use every thing you can in the name of safety. If I didn't make it clear.Your one pass away from getting killed at the dragstrip.
