If you are an sts user, what is the real bumpscoop on these sytsems? I hear nothing but negative feedback from people about STS turbo systems. I hear that for the numbers they put out, you feel none of it. And I've also heard stories of N/A head/cam TA's with low numbers stomping STS users with there numbers up close to the 500 range. What is the deal on these, both automatic and 6 speeds? Thanks guys

I have alot of fun out of my STS kit. I've had a bunch of compliments on the kit also. The kit is pretty easy to put on, hell I put mine on by myself in a weekend with a floor jack and jack stands.

I think most of the time guys just bolt the system on and have small upgrades to the fuel system. When I first had my sts kit when it was a sts kit I never got beat by a heads and cam ls1 or a ported blower cobra with no2. All I had was a cam change to a 67-1 turbo and at the time pacesetter shorties. I also had 42# injectors and a intercooler. 8 psi netted me 500+ with a good tune. If u rework the rearmount it will work for big power. Its just a matter on how u want to go about it. Boost is a learning curve to very new users and some just dont know what they are doing. I have a love hate deal with my rearmount but hey I can out run cars that owners say trap 130-140 in the quater but then again anything can happen on the street.

I will state the same thing OUTLAW stated. I have not lost to a head and cam car with my STS kit. I have lost to head cam and N2O cars but hey cant win em all. Cobras even when I ran 5 psi could not hang with the TA. The kit is very easy to install and maintain. Follow the advise on here about manifolds and wrapping exhaust and you will achieve the most out of the kit. It has been a great learning tool for me, it was my first car with FI.

Had rides in two sts cars..stock sts lt1 camaro and near stock ,.3.73 gear y2k ls1.
Both were set up at 5psi. And both moved out pretty darn good. I ran the lt1 sts with my pretty mildly modded 96z vert. I took it off the line with my nittos, 2800 stall and 3.42 gears versus his 3.23 gears but then got roasted bad the rest of the quarter. All I saw were taillights. The sts work and work well. The new improved kit looks a lot better.
Would even consider one possibly for my 96z but thinking to go procharger just for something different in that car.
Already have a few turbo toys. I like my front mount but the sts definitely work and work well. I would not underestimate them.

I know what you mean, ebonics is getting harder and harder to follow. I had an 11 year old relative ask me about a feature on his phone and glancing through a text I couldn't even make of what was being said. Words like "cuh" "bra" and a whole arrangement of abbreviations that I couldn't figure out.
STS kits will work great if it is properly set-up. A basic STS kit with it's small turbo will simply not get the job done. A bigger turbo is needed for efficient boost 8+lbs, as well as bigger injectors, intercooler is also a must. I have an STS LS1 and I love it. A stalled automatic will tend to run faster than a 6-speed manual. Do some research and check out Zombies threads to see what works, he is almost at 9's@6,000+ft elevation. I strongly believe that his is a 8 second F-body at sea level.

When my only real mod was STS and supporting fuel mods it was damn close with my brothers heads/cam/stalled car. His best time was slightly better than mine, but i was way more consistent.
Now... well... if he sprays he might have a chance.
